Name like Ella

Hi all

I'm due a little girl in a few months and absolutely love the name Ella, but our surname begins with an L and when you say them together it kind of blurs into one.

I've been trying to think of other names we could call her but then use Ella as a nn, but I can only come up with Stella which I don't like.

Any ideas?

Other names we like to give you our sort of taste are; Sophia, Ada, Zara, Grace

We also have a little boy who has a short, top 10 name.

I know this isn't what you asked OP, but if you love the name Ella (and it is lovely) then I personally wouldn't let the match with the surname put you off. I think we say first and surname together a lot when trying out baby names, but in normal day to day activity, we just go by 'Ella' or whatever our first name is. You can just make sure both names are separated and fully enunciated when they are said together? Lots of other nice options given my PPs if you did want something different though.

I hear you on Ella, most beautiful name ever and yes I’m biased.

Elvira is another possibility and unusual in the UK.

If the 'l' is th problem before your L surname, how about classic, timeless Emma, quirky Etta or strong Ebba?

Emma
Eliza
Emmeline (Emme)
