Originally going to be called Jim after my granddad, but we've found out we're having a girl. Would this work?

Uberina or Minicaba, then.

Jimbolaya

Jimberley is hilarious.

I think I love Jamesina the most but here's some other James related girls names: Jacqueline (and all its derivatives), Jemma, Jacinda, Jean, Jacoba.

Whycantiwinmillionsandsquillions · 29/04/2024 12:01

You asked for opinions so here goes.
Its absolutely terrible.
Why laden a girl with that?

Needanewname42 · 29/04/2024 12:04

Sorry Op Jimberly almost sounds like Jamboree

Jamie, Jamesina, Jemima (which is a playschool doll to many of us).

Or choose one of her Granny's names.

Wishimaywishimight · 29/04/2024 12:04

Jiminy with Cricket as a middle name 😃

SeanBeansMealDeal · 29/04/2024 12:05

CelesteCunningham · 29/04/2024 11:41

Nevaeh-Mij surely. Grin

Midge Ure's real name is Jim (James, obviously), but when he was much younger, somebody reversed it for a lark and called him Mij (which became Midge) plus he's quite small and it stuck.

Midge would at least be not-as-bad-as Jimberley.

SiobhanSharpe · 29/04/2024 12:06

Jemima is much, much better. A good name in its own right too.
And several short variations are available should you wish to use them.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 29/04/2024 11:59

Uberina or Minicaba, then.

or Hackneetha.

Mrspatmoresspoon · 29/04/2024 12:07

Why do you hate your unborn child op?

Moveoverdarlin · 29/04/2024 12:09

Some of these are making me snort laughing.

Orangemangogrape · 29/04/2024 12:09

No it wouldn't work.

What about Jem.

SeanBeansMealDeal · 29/04/2024 12:09

Toddlerteaplease · 29/04/2024 11:37

Hilarious, I knew a baby through work called Jimbob. We laughed a lot. (Out of sight and hearing of the parents)

The nicest thing I can think of to say about that is that I'd rather be called Jimbob than Fruitbat!

I mean it's an interesting question why we find Kimberly ok and Jimberly not ok, but I would stick with one of the pretty James derivatives suggested.

Kimberly will always remind me of the Victoria Wood sketch.

SeanBeansMealDeal · 29/04/2024 12:12

How about Jim-Angie? I don't suppose one of her grandmothers is/was called Angela?

DramaAlpaca · 29/04/2024 12:13

Jimberley. Love it.

I'd take that one to R@dd@t for a laugh but they've banned me for being too rude about names Sad

LikeTalkingToLassie · 29/04/2024 12:14

@Vastlyoverrated , because Kimberley was/is a place name.
