Thoughts on the name Crusoe

I’ve recently come across the name Crusoe and I really like it especially with the nickname Crue for a boy. Whenever I mention it to anyone they think it’s a bit weird so I was wondering what everyone on here thought of it?

I like the middle names
Crusoe Dean
Crusoe Brooks
Crusoe Jack

And sibling sets I’ve been debating are
Crusoe and Kassian
Crusoe and Koda
Crusoe and Cash
Crusoe and Florian
Crusoe and Foster
Crusoe and Juniper “pip”
Crusoe and Olympia “pia”

Just no.

BlackCat007 · 28/04/2024 12:13

Crusoe and Cash sounds like an action film

Ellmau · 28/04/2024 12:13

That's because it is weird, I'm afraid.

Call him Jack.

RedToothBrush · 28/04/2024 12:14

Far too Try Hard.

Everyone will go 'what?' and 'how do you spell it?' constantly.

DaisyChain505 · 28/04/2024 12:17

No. Just no. You’re naming real life people not pets or characters.

ivs · 28/04/2024 12:17

They'd get Robinson as a nickname

Yes, of course they would. That will be the first thing anyone thinks when they see "Crusoe"

Circumferences · 28/04/2024 12:30

Robinson is the only Crusoe

Moreteaandchocolate · 28/04/2024 12:30

Sorry, another no from me.

Princesspollyyy · 28/04/2024 12:30

Absolutely not. Sorry. It's really awful.

BodyKeepingScore · 28/04/2024 12:31

Another no here. It's really awful.

Gotabadfeelingaboutthis · 28/04/2024 12:31

No. Just no. Not in any format.

LenaLamont · 28/04/2024 12:32

No. Jut no. Beyond awful.

muddyford · 28/04/2024 12:32

All ghastly.

CheerfulBunny · 28/04/2024 12:32

Crusoe Brookes sounds like a firm of no win no fee solicitors who advertise on daytime telly. Please don't.

SirChenjins · 28/04/2024 12:33

Don’t be so silly - you’re naming a human, not a puppy.

Dareisayiseethesunshine · 28/04/2024 12:34

Smashing if your surname is Robinson.. School register will be cool....

Oldermum84 · 28/04/2024 12:34

Terrible.

Queenofwistfulthinking · 28/04/2024 12:35

Fuck no.

OlderGlaswegianLivingInDevon · 28/04/2024 12:37

oh for goodness sake !

you will be naming a real living person, that person is stuck with that silly stupid name for life !

or at least until he goes and changes his name by deed pole.

and as for a nickname, is this inspired by tik tok or something ? as nicknames should just happen , not be thought about and planned in advance.

if you want to call him ' crew' then that is what you name him - and it is equally stupid !

my dd's name often has abbreviations of it i.e. if she were Elizabeth - some people shorten it to Beth or Liz etc

we didn't

but I often called her pumpkin - it was a term of endearment

Overtheatlantic · 28/04/2024 12:38

He will surely get bullied.

boysmuminherts · 28/04/2024 12:38

Like Robinson? Awful

usernother · 28/04/2024 12:38

Sounds like a restaurant.

takemeawayagain · 28/04/2024 12:39

Jesus Christ, Crusoe and Juniper? This has got to be a wind up, you're naming people, not dogs.
