Gracie
Leighton
Adelaide (Addie)
Eloise
Cressida
Annabelle
Mabel

i'm finding it hard to choose just one, do any of these names stand out to you?

Leighton conjours up images of a teenage boy in a hoodie loitering in a park.

Gracie is too twee for me, but I'm old & Im not keen on diminutives as full names - Grace is nice

Really like the others.
Cressida is pretty & I haven't met one yet.

Op asked for other suggestions that is what I have done just leave me alone ok

She did indeed.

Message received loud and clear!

ginasevern · 17/04/2024 18:06

Leighton? Just no. It's a masculine name and not a particularly outstanding one either.

Camille is lovely as is Eloise. Annabelle is pretty and has good nickname derivations.

Notellinganyone · 17/04/2024 18:15

Adelaide and Cressida are lovely!

Family members have some of these names so please don’t be rude you don’t need to say anything ok

If its so sensitive of a subject maybe don't partake in it? You're telling me no one has previously raised an eyebrow at the name 'Tiger'?

Stowickthevast · 17/04/2024 18:57

Don't know where you are based @StrawberrySkies but Leyton is a suburb in London if that makes a difference.
I like your other choices.
Annabel, Grace - timeless, there will probably be a couple of others around. Both my DDs (teens) have one of each in their year.
Mabel is more unusual but I know a couple, I feel like it's getting more popular.
Don't know any Cressidas, but agree it sounds posh. Also don't know any Adelaide's.
I know an Eloise and think it's pretty and quite unusual.
I'd probably choose Mabel from your selection.

Haggardly · 17/04/2024 19:00

I like Eloise and Mabel the most from that list ❤️

Notreat · 17/04/2024 19:04

I don't like Leighton the others are nice names but Grace would be better than Gracie you could always call her Gracie but put Grace on her birth certificate

@BodyKeepingScore , the poster has posted since that post and would like to be left alone.

gkdf · 17/04/2024 19:27

Not Leighton or Adelaide.

I know a young Cressida, nn Cressie which I find so cute.

ilovepixie · 17/04/2024 19:29

Annabelle and Cressida are my favourites. They are classy and can be shortened in a few ways too.

How rude are you just leave me along its getting me down and its effecting my mental health I've already said that but you just keep going go on

BodyKeepingScore · 17/04/2024 19:56

@Nicetobenice7 how am I keeping going on and on? I made one comment. I don't like the names you suggested. Neither did some other posters. I don't expect everyone to like the names I've chosen for my children either. Saying it's affecting your mental health is extreme and perhaps the internet isn't for you if someone not liking names you like is enough to cause your mental health to deteriorate

ThereIsATInWater · 17/04/2024 19:58

@Nicetobenice7

It's different posters commenting all with the same opinion on your "names".

With respect, if you can't take criticism don't post.

MerryChristmasToYou · 17/04/2024 19:59

Nicetobenice7 you might get a few more comments from anyone who has not seen your subsequent posts. Try not to take it personally although it can be hard not to. Most names don't appeal to everyone and if everyone likes their own name that's what matters most.

theduchessofspork · 17/04/2024 20:06

Cressida I really like, it’s unusual but not obscure.

Adelaide and Annabel are very nice

If you call her Eloise she’ll like be one of many Ella/Ellies, nice though it is

Grace is nice but very overdone, but call her Grace nn Gracie if you do use it

Maybel is too twee for me, but it’s ok

Leighton is really awful and will do her no favours so don’t use that

Just to be clear I have absolutely no problem with ppl not likening my names of choice but I do have a problem with ppl being rude and going out of there way to be mean …there is a saying if you have nothing nice to say …say nothing at all …I don’t expect to come on here and have mean girl tactics thrown at me …and for the record about my mental health and saying maybe this is not the place for me who are you to tell me that …I’ve had some lovely feed back on here nice ppl I’m now sitting here so upset at in my opinion being bullied ..you can say things without being mean I feel sick to the stomach that ppl are actually more interested in hitting me with nasty comment than doing what op wanted which was about baby names ..I’m really upset now and I hope that for those of you that got me there are happy well done you …I feel like shit

Leighton is a boy's name around here hyphenated to give it a young younique twist.
The rest are lovely, good luck!
