Harrison or Jenson?

We have a bit of a family theme going on with middle the name so would like to keep the tradition going with the middle name of Edward but we’re torn on the first name, the two we really like are Harrison Edward and Jenson Edward, thoughts?

Harrison.

Our school is full of Jensons (well 3 but it’s a small school) and they are all trouble makers and come from unpleasant families.

Moreteaandchocolate · 14/04/2024 22:33

Harrison is my favourite.

LaLaLouella · 14/04/2024 22:37

Can you not use Edward as a first name - it's the nicest option of the three!

Loopzy · 14/04/2024 22:38

Harrison

theduchessofspork · 14/04/2024 22:40

Harrison I guess

Jenson is really awful (sorry to be blunt) and has the rep described by the PP.

Edward is great - I’d use that

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 14/04/2024 23:13

Harrison if it must be between the two.
But I agree classic Edward is so much nicer - all I see with Harrison is Harry’s Son, Jenson is John’s Son etc. They are very trendy and make no sense to me anyway if the Dad isn’t called Henry/Harry or John 🤣

TheValueOfEverything · 14/04/2024 23:16

Edward.
Jenson sounds like Jedward
Harrison sounds like a surname. And Harry’s son as a PP remarked.
Edward is lovely and underused. Ed, Eddie,

Infectiousdisease · 14/04/2024 23:18

Def ditch Jenson. Edward is lovely.

Well that works. What is dad's name? Just add 'son' and Bob's your Uncle. Hopefully not your Daddy because Bobson is silly.

I know it isn't what you asked, but another who prefers Edward out of the 3 names you've mentioned.

Alwayswonderedwhy · 14/04/2024 23:22

Edward as the first name and one of the others as a middle name. Harrison and Jenson both have a negative image.

GrumpyMiddleAgedCow · 14/04/2024 23:23

Harrison 10000% for me (to other posters if you read the post Edward will be there regardless) unless I’ve miss read xx

BitzandBobs · 15/04/2024 06:43

Harrison and jenson both have that reputation near me!

Sunnnybunny72 · 15/04/2024 06:55

Edward is lovely.
The others not so much. They have connotations round here.

Firsttimebabymama · 15/04/2024 09:55

Edward Harrison would be my vote.
Otherwise Harrison Edward

bingoringo4 · 15/04/2024 10:05

Jenson

Nicetobenice7 · 15/04/2024 10:06

Harrison all day long love it x

This and Jenson will be Jens.

Your previous thread says pretty much the same as this thread.

Harrison definitely.

muddyford · 15/04/2024 12:58

Edward is lovely but the other two are not.

TheBirdintheCave · 15/04/2024 13:06

Firstly, it's Jensen and not Jenson as the surname is Danish so if you're going to pick it, please at least spell it correctly as per its origins 😅

Secondly, I agree with the other posters that Edward is better as a first name. My reasoning for this is because it's actually a given name and the other two options are surnames (and if your husband isn't called Henry/Harry or Jens then it's a bit weird!) but I appreciate not everyone thinks that's an important distinction.

DuchessOfSausage · 15/04/2024 13:20

@TheBirdintheCave , Jenson is a first name popularised by Jenson Button.

Liv999 · 15/04/2024 13:59

Jenson is lovely, Jenson Edward sounds perfect, not so keen on Harrison

Same for us!
I also don't really think either name go with Edward as a middle name as they are totally different styles.

I'd personally choose something that goes better with Edward such as:

Thomas
Matthew
George
William
Andrew
Joseph

Etc etc!

Bobson would be funny 🤣 but Robson (Robert’s Son) like the actor Robson Green might be useable I suppose. Jackson, Jameson, Hudson(Hugh’s Son), Thomson, Davison… so many Sons!
