I've always liked Aston or Ashton but had to rethink when I married DH.

With our surname, Martin, our little boy would have become his Daddy's dream car!

Would be the only way he'd own one!

SixSpotBurnet · 31/03/2008 11:57

Rory

Dylan

Ellen or Lucy (one would mortally offend my mum, the other my MIL, so at one stage dd was going to be Ellen Lucy )
Philip (problematic old flame)
We can't do names ending with -a either, as it clashes with our surname
Jennifer, Susan, Kim, Vivian...the gang who bullied me at primary school

beckyvicky · 31/03/2008 13:28

Natasha. Our surname has "a's" in it and it would sound like a good sneeze.

jellybelly2007 · 31/03/2008 13:39

keidis cos im a big chili peppers fan (anthony keidis is the singer) but dh said we werent rich enough to call our son that, and mil couldnt pronounce it, coming out with different variations each time she tried, til eventualy she gave up and said "if you name him that i'll just call him liam cos i like that!!!"
we called him adam.

missblythe · 31/03/2008 15:07

DD was so nearly Nancy, but after she was few days old, we decided on Blythe.

Hmm, regret changing our minds sometimes...

TheFallenMadonna · 31/03/2008 15:10

Eve

I'm glad we didn't choose Milo for our PFB as we didn't know Tweenie names then, ditto Lola was on our list but we had a boy.

I liked Charlotte or Lottie. DH vetoed and we had another boy anyway.

I loved Max but surname starts with M.

Benjamin but my fuckwit SIL announced her baby's name as soon as they'd had the 12 week scan when I was a couple of weeks away from giving birth. I nearly chose it anyway but decided a lifetime of rancour was a bad plan. No, it doesn't annoy me .

Tom as it's my BIL's name.

Half the other boys' names as my sister has four boys and has nicked quite a few goodies already.

Doobydoo · 31/03/2008 20:57

If we had a dd she would have been Nancy...but seems to becoming popular.Ds2 is Milo...couldn't give a damn if one of the tweenies is called the same. There will always be people around to make pointless comments whatever you call your child

twirlymum · 01/04/2008 14:14

Loved the name Summer, but dd was a winter baby

kgirl · 01/04/2008 19:11

I looooove the name Horatio but MIL has made herself very clear on that name as has the SIL who hasn't and is unlikly to have any children of her own which just pisses me off even more as DH has now decided its unfair to call a child it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

VerJaiNah · 01/04/2008 19:12

Rainbow, but.....

Fullmoonfiend · 01/04/2008 19:15

Rowan
Tallis
Willow
Seren

Gregory
Felix
Oscar
Reuben

any name ending in y or ee sound

RiaisMaLarkin · 01/04/2008 19:50

Nathaniel (DSS is Nathan)

DS3 was to be Iris, but he was a boy and it's a Spice baby name.

We considered Estel for DS2, but thought it would get stretched to Estelle

Then there was Silas for DS1...

And so many girls names but no girls Lydia, Jessie, Clemency, Nina, etc.

Lmccrean · 01/04/2008 20:03

Always loved Logan for a boy or girl..but then I got pregnant to a man (now xp) with the surname Logan.

MrsArchieTheInventor · 01/04/2008 20:55

Lmccrean - that was very unfortunate!! You should have vetoed surnames like Logan, Hogan, Brogan and Wogan.

twirlymum · 01/04/2008 22:21

Ds is Max, dh wanted Maximus, but we changed our mind outside the registrars office!

sussies · 01/04/2008 22:35

DD was distraught as she wanted to call ds Casper, but it would of made my son sound very friendly!! (can you guess what my surname is!)

chaoskay · 01/04/2008 22:53

My sister very nearly used 'Danger' as her son's middle name. She thought it would be great for him when he was a teenager and wanting to pull the girls.

My mum nearly had a fit. lol!

hungrypanda · 01/04/2008 23:33

I wanted to call dd1 Juana, but then I thought of her schoolmates chanting "marijuana, marijuana" so decided against it.

I liked Natalia and Jessica as well but they didn't go well with the surname.

pinkyminky · 01/04/2008 23:56

We have a Felix so no Oscar for us

dizzydixies · 02/04/2008 10:52

hungrypanda my name used in certain places/ways can actually MEAN marijuana, not that my parents knew this when they decided to use it

OP posts:
Twinkie1 · 02/04/2008 10:55

Elliot - as DD is Harriet and thought would sound weird me shouting Elliot and Harriet out in the supermarket!

DS is Maximillian - we always call him Max though just wanted him to have a 'proper' name.

MrsRecycle · 02/04/2008 10:58

Sam because we have an Ella - "Sam and Ella"

cyteen · 02/04/2008 12:50

hungrypanda - I used to know a girl called Juanita, and she would sometimes get called 'Juanita pizza'
