Friends' names as well...I like Aaron and love Verity and Clara, but have friends with these names and people would always be asking if the kid was named after them (which it wouldn't be). Katarina is one of my favourite names but it's also BF's name and I have a similar weird-out as with my brother's name - couldn't have another Katarina in my life, it wouldn't feel right.

Millie (with our surname would sound v like Millipede)
Eve
Olivia

GirlySquare · 28/03/2008 20:35

Heard a story about friend of a friend who wanted to call her PFB Lucinda until she married a guy with surname 'Head'...

constancereader · 28/03/2008 20:38

Octavia - because I don't want eight children and it is the name of a skoda.

ClairePO · 28/03/2008 20:39

Ben - a friend has it for her DS
Sophie - DNiece
David - both dads names, I wouldn't mind re mine but DP's dad is an arse and DP can't stand him
Peter - love this but don't like Pete
Isobel - DP veto

I have thought about this far too much. Desperate to conceive person alert.

BexieID · 28/03/2008 20:40

Jenson and any H names, as DFs surname is Henson!

kitsmummy · 28/03/2008 20:46

Clementine, although I'm using it as a middle name, but would love it as a first name, but not allowed.

theboob · 28/03/2008 20:50

loved the name conner for ds1 until mum pointed out that with our surname sounded like an std,(gonorea)

dizzydixies · 28/03/2008 20:56

dizzydixies · 28/03/2008 21:02

oh, i really wanted George for a boy (named after my grandad) but our blardy surname is Dawes. humph.

Then i liked Jack. Ooops, no.

Theo Dawes.. No

It definately rules out Marjorie for a girl too!

HonoriaGlossop · 28/03/2008 21:15

hatrick I love your dd's names

chopchopbusybusy · 28/03/2008 21:18

Felt I couldn't use Alice because I knew someone who had just called her DD that. We moved from the area when DD was a year old old and have lost touch with the other family. Still love the name.

LynetteScavo · 28/03/2008 21:24

Alice, because I used to have a saggy, old, excema ridden, fat cat called Alice when I was growing up.

Tallulah, because DH would just say NO, even if we had anohter child.

CantSleepWontSleep · 28/03/2008 21:30

Henrietta - doesn't work with our surname.
Jacob - because already one in the family.

Plus LOTS that I love but dh doesn't.

Pinkchampagne · 28/03/2008 21:54

Love the name Iris, but couldn't use it if I ever had a baby (not that a baby is in my plans!) with my new boyfriend, as it rhymes with his surname!

CristinaTheAstonishing · 28/03/2008 22:04

Ewan because our surname sounds like O'Good.

Martha200 · 29/03/2008 06:50

Peter, but couldn't because of the P to the surname, making it sound like the start to one of those tongue twisters..

Josiah - DH hates and wouldn't let me name the cat it either!

aGalChangedHerName · 29/03/2008 07:11

Was gonna call ds2 Megan if hes been a girl.

My emil called her ugly mutt hound Megan so thankfully he was a boy!!

duvetheaven · 29/03/2008 08:32

Lowri - it is Welsh for Laura. I think it's a lovely name but Laura is name of husband's ex-wife, so no can do !

CorrieDale · 29/03/2008 08:33

Emma - DH's ex
Verity - Our surname begins with D.

sophiewd · 29/03/2008 08:35

James, Thomas, William - brothers
Joseph, Oliver, Edward - some of my nephews
Theo, Gabriel - close friends boys names
George, Harry - pet names.

It has taken us a while but we think we are there for the bumps name which would have been Agnes if it was a girl
