Just that really!

I know a few Lunas but they're all dogs, sorry OP.

Horaced · 05/03/2024 20:08

Incredibly 2020s.

VivaVivaa · 05/03/2024 20:10

It’s a really nice name.

But it’s not timeless and classic. Assuming you are in the UK, to me that’s names like Victoria, Emily, Katherine, Charlotte, Grace etc.

Gagagagagaga · 05/03/2024 20:10

For a spaniel? Yes.
For a child? Less so.

Throwawayme · 05/03/2024 20:10

It's a dog's name for me too.

MolkosTeenageAngst · 05/03/2024 20:11

No. It’s nice but I’d say it’s modern and popular now but will date.

Sickoffamilydrama · 05/03/2024 20:12

DS was going to be a girl called Luna but we were wrong! I went to school with one so was around before HP but did cause some interesting responses when we said about using it!

But people will always seem to grace you with their opinion on names 🙄

Roryhon · 05/03/2024 20:14

It’s a timeless classic for pets. Been around for years, but wasn’t really a girl’s name until HP. Quite nice though.

rainbowbee · 05/03/2024 20:19

Sorry, no. I do think it's a pretty name but I hear a dog's name, then Harry Potter, then the moon connections like lunatic and loony.

Yepidid · 05/03/2024 20:20

No. It's a good example of a name that peaked in popularity and thus will date.

Teamarugula · 05/03/2024 20:21

No. If anything it’s the opposite. It’s trendy/a dog name. Selena is more classic, or Celeste.

I think it’s currently the most-used pet name at the moment - or maybe last year. It might cause problems in the park!

Agree!

ChanelNo19EDT · 05/03/2024 20:32

No.

What about Linnea

herecomesthesun24 · 05/03/2024 20:32

No

DSD9472 · 05/03/2024 20:41

Timeless and classic!!! Yes, for a crazy dog. Not for a child!

OP- are you thinking of some other name? Not that I can think of anything similar other than Luca? 🤔

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 05/03/2024 20:51

We have one at Guides. she's a space cadet

Google told me it is a Latin name, so I thought must be a classic!

No, it's cats name.

mitogoshi · 05/03/2024 21:03

Neither timeless nor classic, more hippyish

Luckycloverz · 05/03/2024 21:06

It's pretty but I've only known of cats/dogs having this name, I'd be worried about other children and luna/lunatic mocking sadly.

Comedycook · 05/03/2024 21:09

I love it but it's certainly not classic or timeless. It's the female equivalent or Arlo or Ezra.... everyone will know what time period you were born in!

WimpoleHat · 05/03/2024 21:10

No! Sorry, OP.

caringcarer · 05/03/2024 21:12

I know 3 different dogs called Luna so I as aways think of it as a dogs name now. I've never met a human called Luna.

DrJoanAllenby · 05/03/2024 21:13

One of my dearest friends is called Luna! It's a beautiful name.

MonsteraMama · 05/03/2024 21:14

I mean it's the name of the Roman goddess of the moon so... It's not actually modern at all, it's just become very popular in the last decade or so. But yes it's Latin and very old, but I don't think timeless thanks to Harry Potter and the seventy bajillion Staffies called Luna, sadly. Shame because it's a pretty name!
