The La-a thing comes up on every one of these threads. But in reality there’s never been a baby names that in the UK.

Because you know the name of every child in the UK? Get a grip. You vouldnt possibly know that and there is much more likelyhood that there is someone called it than not. 🤦‍♀️

my kid goes to school with a Neveah

I thought it was a urban myth...

That became quite popular where I live in a certain area of town. Its Heaven backwards 🤣

Aydel · 20/01/2024 08:54

@ConsistentlyElectrifiedElves did Zinzan have a brother called Tiger? DD2 had friends from school called Zinzan and Tiger (also Birdie, Sunray and Moonbeam).

I knew someone called Velocity. RAF Dad. She was forever saying, no, not Felicity…

xyz111 · 20/01/2024 09:11

@New2024 I taught a Maximus Rex, it must be the same one!

Choir boy with lots of brothers?

allierosex · 20/01/2024 09:34

Nevaeh is heaven spelled backwards

Violahastings · 20/01/2024 09:47

I actually think Nevaeh is a really beautiful name, I think it’s so hated on mumsnet on account of being ‘chavvy’ rather than the actual sound of the name

Marcipex · 20/01/2024 10:04

I have only ever met one Nevaeh and she was a darling little girl.

I'll post these screenshots AGAIN for anyone who thinks La-A might have been born in Scotland, England or Wales. She wasn't.

I'm no saying it's not an urban legend and have never met one but this site says the ONS doesn't list names when only one or two are given the name.

All2Well · 20/01/2024 10:49

@greenmarsupial I agree...

There's a few names on here that just won't come up on dark greener.

Pineapples198 · 20/01/2024 11:00

I have a few…
Diamond Ferrari
Dachian (pronounced day-she-un)
siblings called Ocean and Breeze
Grateful
Siblings called Blessed and Success
Teddie Courage

There's a builder called 'Quickfall' out there somewhere.

Better still is the firm of lawyers called 'Wright Hassall & Co!'

There's an estate agent in the Midlands whose name always makes me chuckle and wonder if they live up to it - Doolittle and Dalley Grin

CaravaggiosCat · 20/01/2024 11:13

Blessman
Kaison (because they couldn't choose between Kai and Tyson)

Totally true and very well known in a certain town in England. The man's name is easily verified as he was in the courts I lot I think ...

greglet · 20/01/2024 11:40

Jenkinsbry · 20/01/2024 11:42

There was a girl in the year above me at secondary school.
Iona Hoare!
Why???

fishstiks · 20/01/2024 11:42

Maverick. This was sometime between the 2 Top Gun films but I think he was called after a racing driving.

Saxon. He be a teenager now.

We know a Nevaeh. Doesn't suit her.

Recently came across a Pacey!

I always liked the name Pacey after the character in Dawson Creek but wasn’t brave enough to use it.

The Dutch politican- Tiny Kox

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiny_Kox

No idea why he would consider using his nickname like this.

Tiny or Tinie is a common nickname for Martinus and Martina in the Netherlands (bit old fashioned so it's mostly people over 60). Hardly anyone goes by the full name. It's pronounced somewhere between teeny and tinny.

I was taught there by a Ms Willy - equally common for men and women. A former PM is called Wim Kok, and there's a famous detective (TV/book series) called De Cock. Amusingly they changed that to De Kock for the English translation.

In Dutch, Bill means bum cheek, Dick means fat 🤷🏻‍♀️ think that makes things equal!

greglet · 20/01/2024 12:25

@New2024 yep that's the one!

FunkyBu · 20/01/2024 12:32

I watched a documentary and the man was called Pistol! I've known two brothers called Precious and Fabulous. A girl at my primary school called Friendly and a little girl named Hen.
