Great name for a bovine. But no, sorry, I wouldn’t call a child this name.

Clover is the name of a cow.

Never heard it in real life, but I immediately thought of the character from "What Katy Did" - and I rather liked it in that book

I instantly think of cows, sorry. Clover and Buttercup were always the sort of names given to cows.

It’s a name I associate with dairy, sorry.

I have known 3 dogs named clover.
I don't associate it as a child's name.

Some flower and herb names just don't work for humans. It would be a bit like calling a child Parsley or Dandelion.

I have always loved it as a name but reading the responses to this thread realise it's probably a no go for a baby. I don't use margarine so didn't make the brand-name association at all.

Clover Stroud is a writer - she's the only person I can think of who has the name. It's quite "cottage-core" so I can imagine it becoming more popular.
