Clara & Darcy or Adeline & Isabelle

I'm 28 weeks pregnant with twin girls and really struggling for names.

I like Clara and Darcy as a pair and I like Isabelle and Adeline as a pair but not sure I love either combo.
I also like the names Madeline, Isabella and Amelia but don't really love any.
Middle names will be a combination of Elizabeth, Emily, Mary and Jane and the surname is Swan. Any ideas or preferences for the thoughts I've got would be appreciated!!

I love Darcy for a boy.
The other names are very feminine by comparison.
Inspired and brain storming from your list ..

Marceline.
Madeleine
Amelia
Claire
Adele
Isabella

Adelphie Amelia
or
Adele Amelia/Emily
and ..
Marceline Jane
Claire Elizabeth
Mary Isabella
Eliza Jane

Love the name Adeline, not keen on Clara or Darcy, or Isabelle. There would probably be at least one or two Darcy's or Isabelle's in their class at school.

Clara and Isabelle 💯

HateLiarsButLoveMyHusband · 12/12/2023 09:35

@EMswan I really like Clara and Darcy as names but as soon as you read them together I heard them getting merged, with these names you’d end up shouting in the playground for ‘Dara’ or ‘Clarcy’.

Clara and Bella are good but Clarabelle is also a name, not sure if that would be an issue.

KirstenBlest · 12/12/2023 09:57

Isabella is the Spanish/Italian version of Elizabeth. not Spanish

OopsieeDaisy · 12/12/2023 09:57

Another vote for Clara and Isabelle.
Where I live, Darcy is a bit of a ‘rough’ name, usually pronounced ‘Dar-seh’ 😖

Noooo Clarabelle to me is one of the carriages in Thomas the Tank Engine!

HateLiarsButLoveMyHusband · 12/12/2023 10:28

@StillWantingADog i wasn’t suggesting clarabelle as a name choice. OP @EMswan commented her husband had suggested Clara and Belle, I was just pointing out it could sound like one name/child when said together, not great for establishing individual identities!

abcdefghijkI · 12/12/2023 10:31

Clara Emily Swan
Isabelle Mary Swan

Lovely names 😍

Ohnanawhatsyourname · 12/12/2023 10:35

Clara and Isabelle! Somehow stood out so much more than the other names (though the others are nice and would be lovely middle names)

PickledScrump · 12/12/2023 10:56

Clara and Isabelle are perfect.

pontipinemum · 12/12/2023 12:44

You asked why not Darcy, because to me I immediately think of Mr Darcy. No a little girl.

I like Isabella, I read and loved all the Twilight books and honestly it didn't jump out at me immediately.

Clara is beautiful if DS had been a girl it was a strong contender.

I don't think Amelia and Emily are too close sounding, also most the time at home you will be called mum.

Clara and Amelia or maybe Annabella you could still call her Bella but if for some reason Twilight becomes super popular again when they are old enough to understand she can say don't call me that

NotFastButFurious · 12/12/2023 13:14

I also prefer Clara and Isabelle as a combination. My only hesitation is that Isabelle easily shortens to several things whereas Clara doesn't.
I don't like Darcy at all, it's not half as classy as your other choices.
Isabelle and Madeline is also good aka Izzy and Maddy

ashtyler · 12/12/2023 21:48

Adeline & Isobel is a beautiful combo IMO. Two of my favourite names

Inthebleakmidwinter2 · 12/12/2023 22:07

Annie and Clarabell

moonshinepoursthroughmywindow · 12/12/2023 22:12

I was going to say that I like Clara and Isabelle but I see someone else has thought of it already!

Newbie1011 · 12/12/2023 22:17

Darcy has got very popular for girls and boys and is very common where I live- I don’t love it
Clara is beautiful and I think it goes with Isabelle and Madeline, that would have been my choice if DC3 had been a girl!

Oh, also, I hate that i know this but as nice as as Isabella is, Isabella Swann is the main character in the Twilight series so that might put you off.

she's only ever really called bella though, and twilight isn't very relevant anymore

43ontherocksporfavor · 20/07/2024 07:15

What’s Twilight? Never heard of it . Isabella is a classic name.

Marcipex · 20/07/2024 09:35

I would avoid Darcy because kids rhyme it with Arsey. A pity because I do like it.
I associate Adeline with adenoids.

Clara and Marcy?
Clara and Isabel is nice.
Clara and Madeleine.

Clara and Marnie would be lovely.

Rockmehardplace · 20/07/2024 10:10

Isabelle & Amelia
Madeleine & Amelia

KirstenBlest · 20/07/2024 13:20

@izzydrizzy04 , OP will have named her daughters about six months ago.

Can see Darcy isn't really a hit- any reason why that I'm missing?

Anyone have any other names we might like?

I like the name Darcy, but it doesn't sound great with Swan imo.

The ending of Darcy with the beginning of Swan makes the name sound very hissy. Cee-Sw
