Clara & Darcy or Adeline & Isabelle

I'm 28 weeks pregnant with twin girls and really struggling for names.

I like Clara and Darcy as a pair and I like Isabelle and Adeline as a pair but not sure I love either combo.
I also like the names Madeline, Isabella and Amelia but don't really love any.
Middle names will be a combination of Elizabeth, Emily, Mary and Jane and the surname is Swan. Any ideas or preferences for the thoughts I've got would be appreciated!!

Clara and Adeline are absolutely beautiful together, especially with the surname Swan. I love Clara and Madeleine too. Congratulations!

HuntingoftheSnark · 11/12/2023 19:02

I really like Clara and Darcy, but I have a niece Darcy and love the name. I'm not that keen on Isabel or Adeline.

DuploTrain · 11/12/2023 19:09

I think Emily and Amelia are a bit too similar, yes, especially as it will be contrasting with the other sister not having a similar name to you.

RedToothBrush · 11/12/2023 19:19

Isabella is the Spanish/Italian version of Elizabeth.

So if you use them both you'll either have two daughters who have the same name or you call one daughter the same thing twice!

So I would be using EITHER Isabella OR Elizabeth for your daughters first and second names not both.

And both seem problematic with film characters with your surname.

I think you maybe need to have a bit of a rethink tbh.

I prefer Dulcie to Darcy. I think it’s softer sounding and more feminine.

43ontherocksporfavor · 11/12/2023 19:22

All beautiful names. Clara is my favourite and either Isabella or Darcy. Adeline is also nice .

theduchessofspork · 11/12/2023 19:23

Clara and Adeline Swan is lovely

Isabelle is also lovely but very overdone. Darcy is the Tracy of the 2020s - don’t do it

But if you only want one pair or the other then Adeline and Isabelle

Hibernatalie · 11/12/2023 19:28

Absolutely love Clara. I'd go Clara and Isobel

peakygold · 11/12/2023 19:32

Isabel Jane and Darcy Elizabeth. Beautiful. (not Isabelle, unless you are French)

RoseRows · 11/12/2023 19:46

Clara is lovely. I also really like Adeline and Madeleine but I don’t like the nickname Maddy. Not too keen on Darcy, feels a bit dated. Agree with PP about Twilight/Pirates references being an issue, particularly Twilight.

Matilda
Jemima
Tabitha
Penelope
Phoebe
Imogen
Annabel/lla
Arabella
Ophelia
Verity
Viola/et
Gabriella
Camilla
Josephine
Harriet
Francesca
Cecilia

MaloneMeadow · 11/12/2023 19:48

Clara and Darcy! I would use the Darcey spelling though

RoseRows · 11/12/2023 19:48

Actually… Jemima Swan might be a bit too puddleduck 😂

Workawayxx · 11/12/2023 19:50

Clara and Darcy or Clara and Madeline are my favourites.

StillWantingADog · 11/12/2023 19:51

going against the grain

Isabel and Clara

MadKittenWoman · 11/12/2023 19:55

Clara and Isabelle.

17caterpillars1mouse · 11/12/2023 20:04

I love Adeline and Clara. Are they not an option together?

I would choose Clara Emily and Adeline Mary

Vexxa · 11/12/2023 20:40

Love Clara, Isobel and Adeline. I'm also not a fan of Darcy, sorry.

My imaginary twin daughters would be called Clara and Florence.

Or how about Clara and Eliza?

CattingAbout · 11/12/2023 20:44

Clara and Isabella (or Isabelle as a second choice)

Darcy is ok, but I'm not a fan of Adeline all.

martinisforeveryone · 11/12/2023 20:50

I like Clara Elizabeth and any of Isabel/Isabelle/Isabella Mary.

Not on your list but I also like Clara and Harriet.

AcrobaticCardigan · 11/12/2023 20:51

Clara & Darcy - absolutely love both names! They are perfect together.

HarvesterMoon · 11/12/2023 21:01

There’s always an awkward one, this time me. Would you consider two forenames of similar syllable count?
Clara Jane Swan
Eva Mary Swan
Does that nod to both grandmothers?

Codlingmoths · 11/12/2023 21:05

Clara and Isabelle and you can call her Bella. I don’t love Darcy for girls, I know some sweet boy Darcy’s. And Darcy Elizabeth sounds like a die hard pride and prejudice fan!
Clara and Mabel?
Clara and Amelia?
clara and Eloise?
my twins would be Marigold Grace and Elizabeth June

HarvesterMoon · 11/12/2023 21:15

Ooh, Romilly and Elodie - lovely.

DuesToTheDirt · 11/12/2023 21:23

EMswan · 11/12/2023 16:12

Can see Darcy isn't really a hit- any reason why that I'm missing?

Anyone have any other names we might like?

I've never known a person called Darcy, but I do know a dog and two horses.

babysharkdoodoodedoodedoo · 11/12/2023 22:27

Hate Amelia, such a whiny sound. Love Clara and Adeline. Isabelle is really nice but overdone.
