Final names - please help!

Hello!

Due our first baby in a few weeks and struggling to pick a name!

What are your favourites from the below:

Girls:
Mae
Mara
Zoe
Ellen
Robin

Boys:
Max
Freddie (Frederick)
Patrick
Robin
Frank

Girls: Ellen's my stand-out favourite - head and shoulders above the others. Simple, elegant, unusual. Zoe and Mara are OK. I only like the Robyn spelling for girls. Don't like Mae at all.

Boys: I'm afraid I'm not that keen on any of them, really. Robin's OK, so is Patrick, and I like Frederick but not Freddie. Frank is one of those names that will date massively to a roughly five-year window about now.

Our boy is called Max - good strong name! :) works as a baby - little maxi, and as an adult just as Max! We almost went for Freddie too... that would be my second choice for a boy!

Girls:
Mae - I don't like this, sorry.
Mara - lovely. I only know one and she is an adult!
Zoe - like
Ellen - I do like this but it feel maybe slightly dated.
Robin - lovely.

Boys:
Max - gorgeous (may or may not be my DS's name 😆)
Freddie (Frederick) - nice but prefer just Fred as a nickname. Freddie is slightly twee to me.
Patrick - lovely
Robin - I like it for a girl's name but find it slightly wet for a boy.
Frank - lovely. Also really like Frankie for a girl.

Ellen & Patrick

Ellen or Robyn for a girl, really dislike the other options.
Max or Robin for a boy.

Ellen is my favourite, closely followed by Zoe. Mara is OK. Really dislike Robin and Mae.

Patrick or Max for the boys. Not keen on Freddie or Robin. Frank could grow on me maybe.

Girls:
Mae - awful
Mara - not keen
Zoe - nice
Ellen - fine but I prefer Helen
Robin - ok

Boys: All ok. Like Patrick and Max

I think top picks for me are Zoe and Robin.

Girls: Robyn (spelled this way) then Ellen.

Patrick and Ellen. I do like Robin but would spell it with a Y and I prefer Zoey rather than Zoe.

They are all ok but I'm not overkeen keen on any of them.

Mara is a demon, associated with death and dark forces in Buddhism.

Congratulations on your baby. Maybe you’ll know the right name when you meet your little one? They are all nice names so you have some solid choices. My favourites are Ellen and Frederick.

Robin!! You seem to like it a lot and then it doesn’t matter what the sex of the baby is. I think it’s a lovely name, not wet at all. There is a beautiful Carly Simon song that always comes into my head when I hear the name.

Mae and Max are my favourites from your list x

Mara means quite a lot of different things in different languages. It’s also irish for the ocean.

Patrick and Mara or Zoe are my faves

Robyn with a y. Also really like Mara.

Frederick for a boy.
