What do you think of any of these as a sister to James?

Ledia
Venetia
Cora
Flora
Eirinn
Tabitha

thank you!

Tabitha is my favourite out of your choices.
How about Martha? That was the first name that came into my mind when I saw your thread title.

Debini · 19/10/2023 17:19

I like Billie but it’s not on your list 😂

EmmaGrundyForPM · 19/10/2023 17:22

I don't think any of those go with James. James is a very traditional name which works well with other plain, traditional names such as

Emma
Charlotte
Victoria
Sophie

Robotalkingrubbish · 19/10/2023 17:23

James is a classic name, so I would choose a classic girl’s name.

Anna
Elizabeth
Rebecca
Julia
Victoria
Philippa

Harriet

Hibambinos · 19/10/2023 17:25

you could go traditional old school
like Ophelia or Gwendolyn

longestlurkerever · 19/10/2023 17:25

Flora is nice with James. Tabitha is the second best fit, but I don't especially like it personally.

Baconking · 19/10/2023 17:28

My first thought was Chloe

MightyFine · 19/10/2023 17:29

I love Tabitha and Cora is nice too. Do not like the others.

The Tabitha I know has a sister called Evangeline which I love too

Scoobyblue · 19/10/2023 17:30

I agree with the most of the other posters. The names you are suggesting don’t really go with James. I would suggest
Sophie
Anna
Emma
Charlotte
Isabelle

Sealover123 · 19/10/2023 17:33

Ruby or Dora?

MatildaonMain · 19/10/2023 17:34

Some lovely suggestions, thank you! I meant to include Harriet in particular on my list, I’ve always liked it

Agreed with PPs. James is a classic so why not a classic for his sister. There's lots of lovely choices.

How about:
Katherine nn Kate/Katie
Eliza
Grace
Alice
Isabelle/Isabella

Or slightly more unusual:
Alexandra
Helena
Beatrice
Antoinette

Robocop91 · 19/10/2023 17:37

Out of your list i like Flora best.

I like the name Lily :)

MatildaonMain · 19/10/2023 17:39

I adore Beatrice and Helena! Lily too, although DH had a family budgie called Lily so maybe he would veto it

Jemima (as it's illustrative).

James and Jemima.

Realise its not in your list! Sorry!

Fahbeep · 19/10/2023 17:40

Alliterative, not illustrative!

Jewelspun · 19/10/2023 18:08

Ledia - no.
Venetia - no.
Cora - no but I love Coral.
Flora - margarine.
Eirinn - lovely if spelt Erin. I also like Elin.
Tabitha - beautiful name.

DuchessOfSausage · 19/10/2023 18:52

Harriet or Flora

Goodornot · 19/10/2023 19:43

Talitha is a more unusual alternative for Tabitha.

It means little girl.

belfastbelle78 · 19/10/2023 19:45
  • Ledia + Venetia - not a fan at all, unique in all the wrong ways!
  • Cora - quite nice, Cara is lovely as well. Not too common
  • Eirinn - not bad but people will assume it’s the more conventional Erin spelling and she will be having to constantly correct them
  • Tabitha - nice
  • Flora - meh
  • Beatrice - love it, my favourite by far and would be a strong contender if I had another DD!
  • Harriet - lovely
  • Helena - a bit middle aged woman to me
  • Lily - very basic and overused
