Sorry if this post has already been done but I'm interested to know which names are most common in your child's class and what year they are in.
My LG is in year 1 and the most common girls name is Ruby and the most common boys names are Jack and Oliver.

I teach a Year 1 class.
3 x Oliver/Ollie
2 x Oscar
2 x Phoebe
2 x Poppy

Teacher here! Secondary.

Girls: Maya, Eva/Evie, Holly
Boys: William, Oliver

There is actually a really wide range of names and barely anyone has the same name. Hardly any Freddies, for example, (my eldest’s name shortening, seems not v popular around these parts).

Aurelia and Isabella

No repeated boys’ names

wiseoldtree · 20/10/2023 07:12

DS is year 6.

Several -
Harry, Jack, Leo and Charlie
Alicia (various spellings same pronunciation), Ciara, Bea and Emily

I had pondered calling DS Leo, so glad I didn't. We have never met another of his name.

ValancyRedfern · 21/10/2023 20:22

Year 5 Isabella and Jacob. Oliver also very popular.

Ecnerual · 21/10/2023 23:45

Evelyn/Evie and Rosie.
No repeated boy's names.
In reception.

In DD's intake of 45 the only repeated names were Phoebe, Isobel, Jacob and George (Y2)

Tailfeather · 22/10/2023 22:05

Chloe and Alfie.

whosenameisthisanyway · 22/10/2023 22:08

Grace and Millie.

MrsALambert · 22/10/2023 22:10

No duplicates in DS’s class, but across the small school so many Alices, Freddie’s and Williams.
New reception class has duplicates of Ivy and Dorothy.

Gallia2022 · 02/11/2023 12:28

For boys, short names ending in -o are very popular: Leo, Theo, Arlo, Hugo, Arno.
For girls, names ending in -a: Alma, Isla, Lea... Florence, Matilda and Isabella are popular too.

I should add that it's a bilingual nursery in London and a lot of kids have at least one foreign-born parent, so there is quite a lot a variety in names.

My daughter goes to nursery with 3 girls called Bonnie, and it’s a fairly small nursery!

No duplicate boys though, that I know of at least.

HairyToity · 08/11/2023 18:17

Only name duplicated is Logan.

PerspiringElizabeth · 08/11/2023 18:20

No duplicates in classes. But I know a mountain of Freddies across the school. Not many duplicate girl names! Although weirdly I know 3 Lily-Anns (all under 10).

Bobbyelvis4ever · 08/11/2023 18:37

So. Many. Georges.

Then Henry and Albie

TheChristmasPig · 08/11/2023 18:43

George and Rose/Rosie/ Rosemary

BedtimeIssues · 08/11/2023 18:57

How strange, I feel like a lot of it is regional. Not a single Bonnie around here (nursery nor school)!

Amelia and Oscar

HaplessRhombus · 08/11/2023 20:11

My son is in a 2-3s class at nursery and the most common names are Ivy and Luca. Outside of nursery, the most common name I come across in his age range is Arthur, we know six!
