Sorry if this post has already been done but I'm interested to know which names are most common in your child's class and what year they are in.
My LG is in year 1 and the most common girls name is Ruby and the most common boys names are Jack and Oliver.

Two boys called Hamza and two called Leo. There is also a Nora and a Noura but they are pronounced slightly differently.

This is a relief — I was incredulous at how homogeneously white everyone’s sounded (which, in fairness, explains a lot about the baby names board).

DS’s class now has no duplicates, which is hardly surprising as his class has Irish, Nigerian, Croat, Polish, Rwandan, Spanish, Finnish, English, Canadian and Ukrainian children. At his old village school there were two Imogens, two Alices and two Harrisons in his class.

Poppy is the only overlapping girl name in one class, the other doesn't seem to have any duplicates. We had 2 Joseph's at one point but one left

My son is one of only 4 white British boys in his class (the other three all being Leo's!) - the remainder of the 17 boys are all either non-white British or from other countries. Just none of then have overlapping names Grin

Leo and Ezra

Grace and Nina

Kids are in Year 1

17caterpillars1mouse · 13/10/2023 11:30

Year 3 dd doesn't have any repeats in her class though there are two Natalia's in the year group.

Reception age dd has 3 Julia's in her year group, 2 Sienna's and 2 Dominiks

There are very few top 20 names in either of their year groups. Two form entry.

stickybear · 13/10/2023 12:58

Lots of Jacobs, Finleys, Leos and Theos around here. Isla, Eva/Evie, Mia and Millie for the girls

Thisyearslife · 13/10/2023 13:23

My DS is finished school now but Hugo, Casper, Bertie and Thriston were all very popular. His school was all boys.

Cinnamonandcoal · 13/10/2023 13:29

Two Tianas and there is also a Tiara in another class.
That's it - very multiethnic school so not much duplication of names, but lots of interesting ones.

ellenpartridge · 13/10/2023 13:33

My daughter is in nursery and the only names that are repeated are Lily, Archie and Logan.

AliceMcK · 14/10/2023 00:19

Small primary, most common names: Sophia/Sophie, Emily, Olivia, Amelia, Lily, Violet, Ted/Teddy, Zachary, Sam, Ollie, Kayden, Jayden. They are in all the year groups.

mum1345 · 14/10/2023 06:58

Year 3 class - Charlie, Eva, Theodore,
Year 6 class - Oscar, Lily, x3 James,

SellFridges · 14/10/2023 09:01

DD is Y8 and the duplicates in primary were variations on Lily and Evie. Now there seems to be a lot of Ruby’s. The boys I hear of seem to be multiples of Joshua, Aidan and Joseph.

I’ve never heard of a Jack, Oliver, Olivia or Amelia among her peers which always baffled me.

DS has far fewer duplicates. In fact the only one I can’t think of Isaac. There are a few Kayden, Jayden variations.

wellandtruly · 14/10/2023 09:17

No names doubled up in my DC’s classes.

Fran2023 · 14/10/2023 09:22

Reading this thread reminds me of The Archers: Mia, Poppy, Jack, Oliver, William, Ed (Edward), George and Lily all making regular appearances :D

EllaWallace · 14/10/2023 09:38

Charlotte and Izzy for girls. Seb and Alfie for boys.
