Sorry if this post has already been done but I'm interested to know which names are most common in your child's class and what year they are in.
My LG is in year 1 and the most common girls name is Ruby and the most common boys names are Jack and Oliver.

Theo, Arlo and Jude for boys.

Freya, Isla and Orla/Orlaith for girls.

And one five year old Brian! Can’t see that being duplicated ever.

Okaaaay · 12/10/2023 21:39

Oliver, Charlie, Florence - we have very few duplicates in other classes.

Year 1 - Ava's and Alfie's and Oliver's

anon0007 · 12/10/2023 21:46

There's a few Jacks and Oliver's and popular girls names are Olivia and Lilly

SlightlygrumpyBettyswaitress · 12/10/2023 21:46

My youngest is now 15.
Her year is awash with Charlottes.
But then its a nice name that goes with most surnames!

SpaceJamtart · 12/10/2023 21:48

Two boys called Hamza and two called Leo. There is also a Nora and a Noura but they are pronounced slightly differently.

SquigglePigs · 12/10/2023 21:52

DD is in reception. Between nursery last year and reception this year the only duplicate names we've had are Freddie, Dylan, Freya and Olivia.

bearfood · 12/10/2023 21:53

That should say 'couple of', bloody autocorrect

NotKeanuReeves · 12/10/2023 21:53

2 Josephines and 2 Arthurs in dd2s reception class.

no repetition in ds2s class

(dd1 and ds1 have both left school)

aveline161 · 12/10/2023 21:54

Not necessarily same year as it’s a small school but in KS1 it’s boys William, Finley/ Finlay, Ted/Teddy, Freddie, girls Willow and I can’t think of any others although lots of the above mentioned.

Drfosters · 12/10/2023 21:54

girls- Isabella, Sophia, lily, Tilly
boys - Sebastian . Every class had about 2. Also a load of Leo’s

yet I don’t recall any Oliviers or Olivia’s which is strange considering their popularity. I also don’t recall many of the other names people have mentioned. Just shows regional differences.

Concernedfriend2023 · 12/10/2023 21:57

Boys, we have duplicates of Leo, Theo, Harry, Ted and Albie. There's also 3 or 4 Oscars.

Girls, I think the only duplication is Aadiya. This is Year 2 (across 2 forms).

Lalaloulous · 12/10/2023 21:57

Year R - 2 x Samuels and 2 x Williams

Pre school - 2 x Ethans (and another William)

No duplicate girls in either but each have a Freya.

Rach247 · 12/10/2023 21:58

@bearfood this blows my mind!

juliannabea · 12/10/2023 21:58

in one year group ... 2 Avas 2 williows 2 Daphnes 3 clementines 2 Islas

2 Bodhi 2 Caspian 2 Leos 2 Bears

TellerTuesday · 12/10/2023 21:59

Year 5
Class of 30
2 x Williams
No duplicated girls names

Sussudio · 12/10/2023 21:59

Lots of the same names in my little ones nursery class, but the only duplicates is Saoirse.

MolkosTeenageAngst · 12/10/2023 21:59

I teach a mixed Year R/ 1 class - it’s a special school so very small class and the only two girls are both called Rosie and I also have two boys called Jack.

Daijoubudesu · 12/10/2023 21:59

Forgot some repetitions- also plenty of Clara's, Isabel's, Aaliyah's and Maryam's. 800 kids so quite a few the same.

Also in Y1 there's a Sky, Chase and a Marshall. (Paw Patrol).
