What kind of names do you like?

Do you like older rare names that are not really used anymore?
Like really old names?

Or do you like unusual names that are more modern, perhap created recently?

Bohobetty0 · 29/09/2023 19:27

@SkaneTos i prefer more modern, unusual ones if you get me

@cherryassam No much wonder those names are rare. Awful.

PoseasRadicalActuallyMisogynistic · 29/09/2023 22:34

I think some of these are not soo rare as they are increasingly popping up on baby names

SkaneTos · 29/09/2023 22:35

Many good, unusual names from the previous posters!

I like the names Sparrow, Meadow, Lysander, and Flynn.

Ididivfama · 29/09/2023 22:36

If you want completely unique they then need to be made up words that no one knows!

Emerylina
Scourgette
Frampeline
Bouldersin

you get my drift

cherryassam · 29/09/2023 22:45

@lemonraincoat they might not be everyone’s cup of tea but that’s okay, if you don’t like them you don’t have to use them!

How about Emerson

If you have triplets then the others have to be called Lake and Palmer. It’s the law.

user1492757084 · 30/09/2023 05:14

Denman
Denham
Willoughby

Wyuna
Clytie
Barbie

Chocolatefreak · 30/09/2023 05:29

Also wanted to say, unusual names are good- a name is supposed to identify you, after all. My son's name (not outlandish but still unusual) will mean he'll always be the only person of that name that anyone knows.

GallbladderWoes · 30/09/2023 05:29

There's a young woman on TikTok who her and her family all have the rarest names.
She's called Trewley-Precious!

Fifireee · 30/09/2023 05:35

Adorabella
Thorn
Spike - I think Richard Curtis has used this.
Ysumbina
Tan
Estellonia

marcopront · 30/09/2023 06:57

I seem to remember a story on here of someone who picked a rare name for their child, I think there were 3 with that name in the UK that year. The child ended up in a class at school with the same name.

MuchuseasaChocolateTeapot · 30/09/2023 07:07

Spudulika?

SacreBleugh · 30/09/2023 07:19

Radish
Cucumba
Salada
Endive
Lollo Rosso ( Ross for short)
Rocket
Caesar

Doveyouknow · 30/09/2023 07:25

Go for 70s or 80s names - Tracy, Brian, Dave, Derek. Far less likely to pop up in a class list than wren, Cosmo, Denham etc

peaceinourtime · 30/09/2023 09:09

Omo

balltraponthecote · 30/09/2023 09:15

Clytie? Really? You'd be setting a child up for a life of hell!

DisplayPurposesOnly · 30/09/2023 09:20

Hepzibah
Zilpha

Actual names 😊

ValuableLimeLesson · 30/09/2023 09:25

Cricket?!

Another thumbs up for Frampeline, though.
