Little one due in two weeks and like both of these names. Which do you prefer?

Thanks!

Elsie

I love them both! Would probably go with Elsie though.

OopsieeDaisy · 17/09/2023 08:09

Definitely Annie! Lovely name

Secondaryschoolstress · 17/09/2023 08:13

Annie, absolutely gorgeous and timeless, classless, classic. Everyone knows it, but not over used. It’s cute but also grownup at the same time.

Elsie is lovely, but there are many many of them round our way (3 in DD5 class) and several others in our small school. I think it will date in the way the vowel heavy names will (I.e. Ella, Ellie, Millie, Mia)

In my mind Elsie is either 93 or 5 years old.

Annie could be any age

Elsie definitely!

Annie.
Though Elsie is also sweet.

DrLucyVanPelt · 17/09/2023 08:25

Annie definitely! Classic, cute for a little one but also suits an adult. Familiar but not overused.

Elsie is ok, it is very popular at the moment if that is a consideration for you (multiples of them in current Infant classes).

17caterpillars1mouse · 17/09/2023 08:31

Definitely Annie

Dd2 has a name that can be shortened to Elsie and we did for a few days after she was born but it just felt too twee, even on a newborn, nevermind an adult

Enko · 17/09/2023 08:32

Elsie. I never liked Annie I find it very dull

Elsie reminds me og my aunt feisty and full of opinions a beautiful soul.

My week old DD is Annie - great name :)

Purplecatshopaholic · 17/09/2023 08:42

Annie. Lovely classic name that suits all ages. Elsie is a (twee) old lady name! I do not understand its popularity at all, and your kids classes will be filled with tiny little Elsies, lol.

DottyDop · 17/09/2023 08:44

Annie

morag1234 · 17/09/2023 08:55

CrystalVision · 17/09/2023 08:56

Annie. Definitely.

IsadoraQuagmire · 17/09/2023 09:12

Elsie, it's lovely. Really dislike Annie, though I like Ann(e)

Sleepnplay · 17/09/2023 09:13

Annie, much more classic

WaltzingWaters · 17/09/2023 09:16

LastNightAPandaSavedMyLife · 17/09/2023 10:00

Annie

pinkchampagne1 · 17/09/2023 17:43

Annie. Lovely name and I know the loveliest little girl called Annie.

NotFastButFurious · 17/09/2023 17:49

Anna nn Annie
Elsie feels very trendy and of the moment but I don’t know how well it will age and it feels like there could be 2 others in her class when she starts school.
