Hello, everyone so I’ve narrowed down my list to these five after my last post. Now which one would you choose from my list and why? They’re all my favorite so it’s a bit difficult to decide. My partner loves Eva and I prefer other names. I’m leaning more towards Nina and Clara though.

Clara
Eva
Hannah
Lara
Nina

Obviously I like short names that end in ‘a’

Nina is a baby name, not an adult name, don't use that one

BorrowedThyme · 07/09/2023 03:58

Eva is too common, and will date very quickly

BorrowedThyme · 07/09/2023 03:59

Lara is the name of an avatar in a computer game

BorrowedThyme · 07/09/2023 03:59

I would use Clara or Hannah, and of the two, I think Clara is nicer, pretty without being over frilly

Username134 · 07/09/2023 04:09

DH also suggested Luna but I find it too trendy and too dog/cat namey.

I like Eva best.

Alstro · 07/09/2023 04:22

Hannah.

I'd have said it's the other way round. It's a nice name but I don't love it.

I like Clara. Not fussed about the rest.

Zeppel · 07/09/2023 04:34

My vote is for Clara, Eva second.

greyhairnomore · 07/09/2023 04:40

Lara (Lyra ?)

Princessintherosecastle · 07/09/2023 05:01

Hannah

PickledScrump · 07/09/2023 05:07

Eva is so so common as is similar sounding names.
Hannah I find a bit dull Lara I’m not a fan but I find it quite dated, I know quite a few in late 30s early 40s

Clara and Nina are both lovely and work really well on a baby and an adult. I’d go with one of those. Maybe wait and see which suits more

bleuclair · 07/09/2023 05:08

Nina is no more a baby name than the others.

Clara, then Nina, would be my favourites. Hannah is nice and sensible but dull though overuse.

NeunundneunzigHorseBallonz · 07/09/2023 05:11

I like Nina… Clara is lovely also

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 07/09/2023 06:03

Hannah

Sleepyblueocean · 07/09/2023 06:21

Hannah then Clara

fairyfluf · 07/09/2023 06:26

Hannah wins by a landslide for me

I really don't like Clara.

Eva is nice - there were a lot of Evies a few years ago if that bothers you

MiniEggsAllYear · 07/09/2023 06:29

Clara is beautiful. The rest are a bit boring for my taste.

NotDonna · 07/09/2023 06:29

Nina!
I’ve a friend named Nina and she’s lovely. I’ve 3 DDs and none of them have anyone in their schools named Nina. Never met anyone other than my friend with the name before so it’s a bit unusual without being odd. Everyone across the globe will be able to pronounce it. It’s a lovely sounding name.

wizzler · 07/09/2023 06:37

Hannah. Never met a Hannah who wasn't lovely

WineIsMyCarb · 07/09/2023 07:11

Vote here for Nina. Shortlist Nina and one of your husband's choosing and see what she come out looking like

Piggysmalls22 · 07/09/2023 07:30

I’ve recently met 2 baby Nina’s & a baby Clara! All 3 super cute and fit them well.

My favourite is Clara, then Nina and lastly Lara.

Sleepnplay · 07/09/2023 07:31

Nina would be my choice also, by quite some way. I think it's a great name for a child and adult and don't think it's babyish at all.

Next choices would be Hannah, then Eva, although the masses of Eva/Evie/Eve/Ava/Evelyn's would put me off, it's still a lovely name imo.

Lara and Clara I'm not so keen on, for some reason I don't really like the 'Lah' sound.

Mumofgirls2017 · 07/09/2023 07:31

I've only ever known two Nina's and they're both Women in their 50s Grin

Clara is a nickname for a Claire, or a cartoon cow, in my head.

I like Eva. I've only know one and she's one of my favourite people.
