Opinions on the name Eden for a girl? What is your first impression, what sort of girl does it bring to mind?
TIA 😊

Dreadful. It's a chain of bookies around here.

watyawant · 19/08/2023 15:14

I know two Edens, both French boys though to me it does feel more feminine. I'm not that keen on it though

TheBrightestStarInTheSky · 19/08/2023 15:15

I like it, l used to work with a young student called Eden and always thought what a lovely name. She was very classy and intelligent.

daisypond · 19/08/2023 15:16

I quite like it.

HarrietJet · 19/08/2023 15:18

I've only ever met male Edens. Don't particularly rate it for a boy either, though.

mysavinggrace123 · 19/08/2023 15:20

I love the meaning behind the name, but not quite so keen on the name itself.

EE-DEN.... hmm... not so keen

Purplecatshopaholic · 19/08/2023 15:20

East of? I only know a boy Eden. I’m not a fan, sorry.

WantingToEducate · 19/08/2023 15:27

I really don’t like the name and I think it is equally bad for girls and boys.

YukoandHiro · 19/08/2023 15:27

Nice but very American, sounds like a Californian rich girl to me

pilates · 19/08/2023 15:28

I like it
A kind thoughtful girl

TetrapanaxRex · 19/08/2023 15:29

As a cheese lover I might think I heard you say Edam when you told me the name of your infant, so it's a no from me.

WithASpider · 19/08/2023 15:30

I have an 18yo Eden. She's the sweetest natured girl and always looks out for people.

Alloveragain3 · 19/08/2023 15:45

I love it. Reminds me of those nature names like Meadow or Summer.

I know a male Eden but still see it is a unisex name.

I imagine that’s down to your good parenting and not a direct result of being called Eden 😂

Probably not, but it certainly influences how I look at others with the same name! 😁

KirstenBlest · 19/08/2023 16:31

I don't like many nature names. Meadow seems particularly bad. At least Eden is a surname.

Catnuzzle · 19/08/2023 16:38

I have a 1 year old Eden. She's beautiful, funny, loving and loves rolling in fox poo.

This.. or it’s the sort of thing that strippers use (I am not saying it’s only used by them don’t @ me) like Forest, Haven etc

Tiqtaq · 19/08/2023 16:50

Not a fan of this one

itsmyp4rty · 19/08/2023 16:55

Always makes me think garden of Eden - religious.

And the hymn 'Morning has broken.'

'Eden saw play...'

Potentialmadcatlady · 19/08/2023 16:59

I like it. She sounds like a nature loving, kind, gentle sort of girl with a backbone…

I could write the exact same except my Eden is 17 and male.

That's a fair point. I always think that about the American name Bree (which I assume is short for Brianna???)
