Hi! Would love some advice on which name is people’s fave from the below list. Really struggling to land on a girls name…

Thea
Coco
Bonnie
Bibi
Alma
Jude
Maya
Juno
Marnie

Coco and Juno are very nice.

TheYear2000 · 18/07/2023 06:49

I like Thea and Alma best from your list. I love Jude for a boy but not for a girl- although of course it could be a nickname for Judith.
Please please use one of the suggested longer names if your heart is set on Bibi, so your daughter has some choice as to whether she is Beatrice say or Bibi. Imagine being an adult woman called Bibi. It might sound cute for a baby/small child but I can imagine it being fairly burdensome for an awkward teen or a serious woman.

Thea and Marnie are my favourites from the list

urbanbuddha · 18/07/2023 07:01

Juno

Coco

Stripper name

Retrievemysanity · 18/07/2023 07:09

Maya and Thea are pretty. Bonnie is ok and maybe Juno.

Rainbowqueeen · 18/07/2023 07:10

Not Jude. It’s a boys name.

Id pick one of Bonnie, Marnie, Coco or Thea

OopsieeDaisy · 18/07/2023 07:27

Marnie is nice and Thea is ok but there are so many at the moment.
I have to agree with a pp that Coco sounds like a stripper.

LulooLemon · 18/07/2023 07:52

Thea - yes
Coco - you can't give a child a clown's name
Bonnie - sounds like not a proper name
Bibi - sounds like not a proper name
Alma - yes
Jude - no
Maya - yes
Juno - no
Marnie - no

My favourite is Maya if pronounced to rhyme with Sky-a

dizzydizzydizzy · 18/07/2023 07:54

I like traditional names, so the only ones I really like are Thea and Bonnie.

Jude is nice but I personally avoid unisex names.

Popcorn640 · 18/07/2023 07:54

Thea, Bonnie and Marnie.

Please don't call your baby Coco or Bibi 😬

watermeloncougar · 18/07/2023 07:59

@LulooLemon you pretty much wrote my thoughts!

Thea and Maya are fine, though I prefer Thea as Maya is fairly popular.

Jude is beautiful- for a boy!

Most of the others sound like nicknames. coco is particularly awful, it just makes me think of the clown or cocoa the drink my granny made.

chocolatecheesecake · 18/07/2023 08:02

Thea or Jude.

Coco or Bibi are fine as nicknames but not as their official name

Mumofgirls2017 · 18/07/2023 08:28

Juno

also love coco but prefer if short for something
like Marnie, Thea, Bonnie too

PickledScrump · 18/07/2023 08:52

Bonnie and Juno are nice.

Inkypot · 18/07/2023 09:44

Weird how so many people are slagging off Coco, surely it's Coco as in Chanel.
Also Coco Clown is quite an aged reference nowadays, don't think many kids would think of it without parents input.
Courtney Cox and Cherry Healey both have daughters named Coco. It's a lovely name OP so if you like it then don't be put off by MN Wink

FayCarew · 18/07/2023 09:59

Thea - meh. Lots of Theos
Coco - too nicknamey
Bonnie - ok-ish
Bibi - too nicknamey, although i do know one
Alma - ok
Jude - boy's name
Maya - meh. May-a or My-a?
Juno - a lot to live up to, but ok-ish
Marnie - ok

watermeloncougar · 18/07/2023 10:01

Coco was a nickname: coco Chanel wasn't actually given it as a birth name!

FayCarew · 18/07/2023 10:01

@Inkypot , Coco Chanel was really Gabrielle.
It would make a great name for a pet but not a human.

Inkypot · 18/07/2023 10:15

@FayCarew @watermeloncougar I realise Coco Chanel's version began as a nickname, I meant that it's more likely where the name has gained popularity.
Also @watermeloncougar I am loving your name but now the Harry Styles song's stuck in my head 😄

watermeloncougar · 18/07/2023 10:18

@Inkypot I've given you an all day earworm!
Not a bad one to have though.

FayCarew · 18/07/2023 10:20

@Inkypot , it's probably far more popular as a name for cockapoos and labradoodles

lemonsaretheonlyfruit · 18/07/2023 10:21

I have a Maya (rhymes with Skya) . I still love the name but she's 16 and they are now everywhere!
Jude can be either but is more commonly a boys name these days.

IDontLoveTheWayYouLie · 18/07/2023 10:23

I wouldn't pick coco or bibi

Inkypot · 18/07/2023 11:45

FayCarew · 18/07/2023 10:20

@Inkypot , it's probably far more popular as a name for cockapoos and labradoodles

One of my children has a name that's become weirdly popular as a dog and horse name lately! Lovely name but not one I ever expected to gain popularity in the pet world. So it wouldn't bother me one bit since we're used to that 😂
