It isn’t really the same name though. That would be like saying Zach and Jack are ‘the same name.’ Obviously Beatrix is a variation of Beatrice, but it does have a different sound and, I think, a very different feel. So although they’re linked, they aren’t ‘the same name’ any more than Isabella and Elizabeth are ‘the same name.’

I really like Beatrice. For some reason I’m not such a fan of Beatrix but I can’t actually pinpoint why. There’s nothing particularly wrong with it. Just not as nice as Beatrice in my opinion!

@Kanaloa , it's not like saying that Zach and Jack are the same name at all.
Jack is from James/Jacob or possibly John, Zach is from Zachary or Zachariah.

Much prefer Beatrice, not fond on x and z sounds in names, they sound too harsh.

My point was there is still a difference even if the names sound very similar. I mentioned Elizabeth and Isabella also - two names from the same origin but still not the ‘same name.’

Yes, they’re the same origin, so I wouldn’t use them for siblings! Despite this, if I saw a post asking whether Isabella or Elizabeth/Charlotte or Caroline was nicer, I wouldn’t respond ‘well it’s the same name.’
