Registering DD tomorrow and still unsure on name!

DD is 6 weeks old this week and we're registering her tomorrow.

After exhaustive and fruitless discussions on names, I agreed to go with DH's favourite - Margot - mainly because I felt under pressure to name her and I didn't have any names I really loved.

We have announced her name to family and friends but the trouble is I don't love it. I don't hate it, but I'm aware it's a bit of a marmite name and, having spent too much time on MN threads, I'm aware of all the criticisms of the name

I would favour a softer sounding name, along the lines of Evelynn, Martha, or Freya.

Please help me out with suggestions, or if you think I should stick with Margot and hope that she grows into her name and I grow to love it.

How about Margaret and Margot for short

I think Margot is beautiful.

I didn’t love either of my children’s names when they were first picked but I adore them now.

If people are allowed to not feel an “instant rush of love” for their actual baby when it’s born, then they definitely don’t need to feel rushes of love for a potential name either.

I think if Margot is the only one you both like then just go with it, let her grow into the name and as it becomes a core part of who she is in these early months then I’m sure you will start to love it.

But I am biased because I love it 😂

Just realised this is a Zombie thread 😂😂
