So Elsa is out 😂
Please rate our current short list. We are aware that most of these are extremely popular, this doesn’t bother us! Just which you think is the nicest :)

Hattie (don’t like Harriet or Henrietta)
Evie (again this would be full name, dislike Evelyn/Eve)
Ella
Lily
Heidi

I think Elsa is by far the nicest.
Hattie is a nice nn but not a full name.
Evie I really don’t like, go to any park or school and you’ll hear loads of Evie’s being shouted. It almost sounds more like a noise people screech now.
Ella is inoffensive, not my taste.
Heidi I really don’t like

lily is the nicest on your current list.

Hattie: 6/10 cute for a baby and child, would an adult Hattie crave a longer form of the name?
Evie: 5/10 bland, nothing wrong with it but nothing spectacular about it either.
Ella: 7/ 10 nice it's a pretty name and your child will be the first one in their class to write their name 😆
Lily: 9/10 love this, it was my number 1 if I had a girl. Never met a Lily I didn't like either.
Heidi: 4/10 nothing wrong with it actually I just personally don't like it.

@PickledScrump I loved Elsa but it has been firmly vetoed by my other half based on Frozen associations :(

Are there any other longer length versions of Hattie out there bar Harriet and Henrietta? Not opposed to a longer name per se, we just don’t like either of these.

Ah it’s a shame your DH has vetoed Elsa, it’s definitely the prettiest out of your list!

Hattie (don’t like Harriet or Henrietta) - Agree with a Pp that said it’s cute on a child but as an adult I feel she’d want options of a more formal name.

Evie (again this would be full name, dislike Evelyn/Eve) - Really don’t like Evie at all

Ella - Really bland. I know you said popularity doesn’t matter to you but there are soooo many girls names out there.

Lily - Pretty

Heidi - Dislike, no particular reason

So with Elsa being out Lily is the best of your new list imo x

@fairycupcakes I agree about Elsa. He’s worried he’s going to get constantly asked if we have named the baby after Frozen. I don’t think he’s come across it in any other context and doesn’t feel it was a well known enough name pre-Frozen. I don’t think there’s any persuading him.

Hattie - the screeching girl who was in Eastenders - def to be avoided
Evie - if u want her to have 6 others in her class
Ella - a pets name usually a dog
Lily - best of yr list
heidi - just reminds me of the program and the saying “Heidi go get the goats”

Hattie - insubstantial and bland
Evie - insubstantial and bland and sounding so tired now is declining after years of popularity
Ella - exactly the same as Evie
Lily - this is dull from years of popularity and definitely tired sounding in the Ella/Evie vein but still my favourite from your list
Heidi - I don’t like it, but don’t have many strong reasons as to why

Honestly, Elsa (to me) is leagues ahead of every one of these names. It’s interesting, has a history beyond Frozen and doesn’t just blend in with the sea of current names like the names on this new list do.
