Seem to have a shortlist we agree on. But I have a favourite. Which do you prefer?

Blake
Finn
Isaac

We also like the name Lewin but middle name likely to be Lewis so that’s probably out.

Brother Harris and sister Cora.

Last name one syllable beginning with S.

I can only hear “Blaaaake”, being screeched in an Amy Winehouse voice. RIP. 😢

RestingMurderousFace · 18/03/2023 12:28

Isaac is nice.

rattlinbog · 18/03/2023 12:30

@MyEasterEggs just geographically speaking I mean. Sooo beautiful!

I love Isaac but you only have to read this thread to see how many people misspell it as Issac, so that puts me off.

I’ve just been thinking the exact same thing. It would irritate the hell out of me!

My favourite place in the world!

Might cry. So Blake is chavvy, Finn is chavvy and half the world will write Issac 😅

As another commenter mentioned upthread I’m in Scotland and have never actually met a Blake. But now I’ve been reminded of Blake Fielder-Civil…

My only connection was William Blake. Thought it was quite smart sounding?

My DCs are teenagers now, but honestly I would never have asked for name feedback on here! They would probably have ended up with their names which I love.

Snoopystick · 18/03/2023 12:41

‘Not ended up’

BridieConvert · 18/03/2023 13:37

Blake or Finn

uncomfortablydumb53 · 18/03/2023 13:39

Finn, but Blake a close second

cormorant5 · 18/03/2023 13:56

There was a Blake Edwards, fairly famous in his day

Ah yes film director married to Julie Andrews! I think most people associate the name with Blake Lively now, hence the suggestion it’s very American, but from what I’ve read it’s actually old English.

Blake Carrington, the suave filthy rich patriarch on Dynasty.

Beautifulsunflowers · 18/03/2023 16:27

Well from your list I love Isaac but I’m biased!
it’s surprising how many people do write it wrongly however they are the people that don’t actually matter! Random people on Mumsnet for example. Your ds’s name will be said so much more often than written and as long as family and school teachers get it right then the rest of the wrong spellers really don’t matter!
Harris, Cora and Isaac go beautifully together.

COPPER3 · 18/03/2023 19:43

Blake

Chocolatesandroses · 18/03/2023 19:45

blake

Hazelnuttella · 18/03/2023 20:57

Sorry I’ve just read your OP again and realised that the other option was Lewin (I misread as Lewis), hence my post saying it was too close to Harris.

Lewin is very nice. I’d be tempted to go for that and pick a different middle name.

I can't see Blake without thinking of the Key and Peele supply teacher sketch: 'Ber-lar-kay'

We both quite like Lewin but OH wonders if it’s too “out there” or it might be mistaken for Lewis. But as @Beautifulsunflowers says it’s only the people who are close to us who really matter and they’ll know his name!

Finn is lovely
Isaac is fine
Don’t like Blake at all

Seasidemumma77 · 19/03/2023 07:06

Isaac

SequinsandStilettos · 19/03/2023 07:13

Blake

although I see it in my head as Bu-lak-ay because of Mr. Garvey (Key and Peele sketch)

SequinsandStilettos · 19/03/2023 07:14

Ah, I see Merry got there before me!
