Seem to have a shortlist we agree on. But I have a favourite. Which do you prefer?

Blake
Finn
Isaac

We also like the name Lewin but middle name likely to be Lewis so that’s probably out.

Brother Harris and sister Cora.

Last name one syllable beginning with S.

Isaac or Finn. Really don't like Blake. My parents had a friend whose surname was Blake. He was an old man with a flat cap so it sounds old-fashioned to me.

Newjumper2023 · 17/03/2023 20:39

Issac.

Goodnewsday · 17/03/2023 21:28

@MyEasterEggs 😂 my Harris was always Harris from years before he arrived and I didn’t think it was popular at all, found out it was a boy, thought great itl be Harris then, looked up the name lists and was horrified it was so high 🙈 couldn’t believe it! I had only met one! Now he’s called it there’s another Harris at nearly every children’s party or toddler class we go to 🙄 but I’d still rather have a name I love than something less popular I don’t love! Blake Lewis does sound lovely but every time I hear of a Finn I get a bit jealous at what a nice name it is!

its just so hard to commit to one. Once it’s picked and the baby is called it there’s no going back so it just seems obvious that is the name but the stage before that is so hard! 😅

Goodnewsday · 17/03/2023 21:30

I also think the majority of people on here are from England and there is a whole different order of names down there so I’d imagine Blake is maybe more popular there and maybe has bad connotations for some people who know a Blake etc but up here it’s not used that often at all, I only know one

rattlinbog · 17/03/2023 21:46

Lewis and Harris are the same island!

ladygindiva · 17/03/2023 21:47

I love Isaac

mathanxiety · 17/03/2023 21:48

Isaac

WaltzingWaters · 17/03/2023 21:50

Love them all. But Finn goes well with your other kids names.

Mumofgirls2017 · 17/03/2023 21:51

Finn

Boomboom22 · 17/03/2023 21:51

Blake with your surname, otherwise isaac

Unicornsandgriffins · 17/03/2023 21:56

Isaac

CrystalMaisie · 17/03/2023 21:58

Finn

marblemad · 18/03/2023 01:06

I'm torn between blake and finn, normally finn would've been my favourite however if you want to be more unique then go for blake

Smallonesaremorejuicy · 18/03/2023 01:13

Issac

CallieQ · 18/03/2023 01:14

Not Blake

Cassiehopes · 18/03/2023 02:00

Isaac. Finn second choice.

Definitely not Blake.

Cassiehopes · 18/03/2023 02:02

I don’t think Blake is unique? Shocked to see people saying it’s rare. Among those I know in the UK it’s well known as a bit of a ‘chavvy’ name - there are lots of little Blakes.

WhisperingAutistic · 18/03/2023 02:43

I love Isaac but you only have to read this thread to see how many people misspell it as Issac, so that puts me off.

It certainly isn't a 'chavvy name' I went to a private school and we had two blakes who were very well off, I've only ever met other blakes at university. If anything Finn is the 'chavvy' name, it's very common now.

OzziePopPop · 18/03/2023 04:31

Isaac, second choice Blake 😀

Starryskiesinthesky · 18/03/2023 09:16

What about Zac if you’re not sure about Isaac?

Lewis and Harris are the same island!

Everyday is a learning day! I’ve just read the first of the Lewis Trilogy. I never realised Harris and Lewis we’re same island (or that people annually culled gannets).

Mammyloveswine · 18/03/2023 11:05

Isaac

Lewis and Harris are the same island!

Technically, yes. I go there. I know that. And my family are there. But they’re known as the Isles of Lewis and Harris. Not the Isle. Since we’re being pedantic 😉
