I wanted to call dd Olympia, but DH veto-ed it because apparently it’s the Greek equivalent of Mavis/Ethel/Vera
All of which I actually don’t mind….!

Excluding my daughters’ names, it would be Anastasia. I think it’s a beautiful name and as a child I loved the story of the princess Anastasia (not the dead family part) and I imagine a beautiful girl with that name. I know a lot of people associate it with Fifty shades of grey or the ugly sisters from Cinderella though…..

I didn’t choose it because it doesn’t fit with our surname and they would probably be known as Anna (which is also beautiful) but not what I wanted. And dh wasn’t keen

I also love Maude. If I'd had another daughter, that's who she'd be

I just love the names Violet and Daisy. I had a doll, Daisy, growing up. Did anyone else have one, it was designed by Mary Quant if anyone remembers.

I had a Daisy!! I still do in fact - she resides in my roofspace!

I knew a girl at university with that name and thought it was the most beautiful name ever (and its meaning too). However she was Irish, I am not and was 100% certain it would be misspelt/ mispronounced most of the time, also DH was less keen than me anyway so we picked other names for our DDs.

As an aside, I am beyond excited to have seen my own name mentioned on this thread. I have always thought of it as very boring especially as it was common for my generation (I was one of two in my year at primary school and one of seven at secondary) and it’s certainly not a popular choice any more, so to see it mentioned on a thread of names people particularly like is really lovely
