I like names with lots of vowels and my favourite Italian girl’s name is
Eleonora.
Too close to Nora Batty for the English.

For family reasons we went with the female version of FIL’s name.
It’s mellifluous and I still love it.
If you dig deep enough, DD’s name means Forest Dawn.

Nothing wrong with Nora, it's biblical and means light or devine light.
I reckon it's due for a revival.

I’ve always liked Gudrun but no girls here

Feverishly scrolling for my own name-finally a measly 2 mentions. My life long favourite is Samantha, after a very pretty school friend. Others are - Rose, Ruby, Willow, Poppy, Amber, Louise.

I think this thread proves that we’d all have much prettier, more romantic names if it wasn’t for our husbands/partners and their pesky opinions. 😂

P.S. Aurelia/Aurelie was one of my favourites for a middle name but got vetoed by DH 🥲 Although we did manage to agree on a very pretty name still.

ThreeRingCircus · 10/03/2023 20:44

Cleo.

I just think it's pretty for a little girl but also elegant for an adult woman.

MadeForThis · 10/03/2023 20:45

Irish name - Roise pronounced Rosha.
Love it.

I knew someone named Roselise, which I'd never heard before. It's lovely. Wouldn't have felt right using it if I'd had another DD though.

Clementine or Trixibelle as I love the nicknames Clemmie and Trixie but unfortunatly no girls for me yet just boys lol!

Ahhh I really wanted Trixie for my second daughter, such a cool name! DH wasn't keen though! 😛
