Except Sophie, Emma and Catherine/Katie, all the names on this thread are hideous 😬Sorry

Well I consider those names as utterly, utterly boring!

My daughter’s name. It’s a top 30, nothing stunningly unusual, but beautiful.

Holly60 · 10/03/2023 19:22

Oh I love Iona too, and Ione.

🍀 Clover

But Mumsnet hates it usually 😬😂

I love it!

Christinatherabbit · 10/03/2023 19:23

Valentina but Dakota is a close second...

PanettoneMoly · 10/03/2023 19:25

Purdy. I just love it. Got vetoed by DH early doors for DD 😔

Names are such a personal thing. I have a couple of friends who have called their DD’s names that wouldn’t even feature in my top 100 and I always mentally wonder how on earth they got to that name and thought “this is it! The BEST name we can think of!” But each to their own, right.

AdventuresAwait · 10/03/2023 19:25

Riva

AllTheAll · 10/03/2023 19:26

I love Aurelie and Aurelia but was afraid it would be changed to "Orally" and "I'll Rail Ya". Same with Annalise.

The most creative I've seen people get with name teasing lately has been "deMandy" and "Elizabitch" - I think maybe it's a thing of the past.

Clawdy · 10/03/2023 19:26

Persephone
Seraphina
Serendipity
Cassiopeia
Arabella

Clearly I like long flowing names.

I like the sound of Persephone - would get called Seph for short I guess. When I was in my late teens I always loved the name Ava (loved watching old films and thought Ava Gardner was stunning) so always kept that in mind. When it came to having kids, mind, Ava had become quite well known by then. Genevieve and Merryn are good ones to me.
