Hello, everyone! My name is Jennifer. I gave birth to my third daughter a few weeks ago. My husband and I ended up naming her Flora Beatrice. I am a momma of 5. Stella Marie&Matilda Jocelyn(twin girls), Caleb Dominic, Arthur Frederick and Flora Beatrice.

Ella,Tilly,Leb and Artie are the nicknames for the first four kids. Are there any great nicknames for Flora Beatrice?

Can only come up with Flo, Ora, Bea or Tricks.

Floss

Flo, Florrie or Floss? Or a silly NN could be Floradora (one of my fave cocktails!).

WetBandits · 21/02/2023 16:10

Why does she need a nickname? Flora is lovely on its own! Most nicknames just come about naturally after getting to know your baby, they don’t need to be pre-planned Smile

Congratulations Flowers

If she was mine she’d be getting called Flossie B, in line with my usual nickname policy for my kids, but that has developed naturally.

This was the first thing that sprang to mind. It was all over American infomercials in the 80s/90s.

I'm of the opinion NN should be organic and just evolve naturally.

RuthW · 21/02/2023 16:12

I have a Florence. I call her Floss. He friends call her Flo. Flo would be the obvious shortening of Flora.

Pieceofpurplesky · 21/02/2023 16:13

Trixie?

Flo is lovely though

BellatrixLestrangesHeatedCurlers · 21/02/2023 16:37

I would keep Flora on its own... she might be a Florrie or a Flo or a Florabella in time, depending on her personality! Also all your children's names are beautiful - Stella was my great-grandmother's name and I never see it anywhere, I hope it's coming back!

Flo is cute. I like Bea as nn for her at the same time. Thank you for your comment!

Thanks for your compliment:) Btw, Stella is in the Top 100 in America and Australia respectively, and therefore it seems to make a comeback.

Florabee.

KnottyAndPistey · 21/02/2023 17:32

Well I have a Flora and we called her Flo as a baby if we used a nickname. She was Flo to her friends all the way through primary. Went to secondary and called herself Flora. Now just goes between the two.

She said the other day that she really loves Flora as a name. Hope yours will too. Mine’s 25.

Weirdly or not, we have a Freddie Arthur. He’s 23!

Other nicknames Flora has had are Flossie, Flossiepants, Flozza, FloFlo. And FloraDora. We also love the cocktail.

mathanxiety · 21/02/2023 17:40

It is nice to know that your daughter likes the name you gave her.
Btw, what did'nt you name your son Frederick? Freddie is great as a nickname, but as a full name, it seems nicknamey to me. No offense!

I like all of the nicknames you have mentioned! Btw, wdyt of Bea as a nn? :)

I don't like the nicknames you have mentioned. I am sorry!

Sorry. He is a Frederick on his birth certificate but he has never used it

re Bea. If you’d called her Beatrice then yes. But you’ve chosen Flora first. So surely that’s the starting point?

honestly the nickname will evolve. We never planned for anything.
