Hello, everyone! My name is Jennifer. I gave birth to my third daughter a few weeks ago. My husband and I ended up naming her Flora Beatrice. I am a momma of 5. Stella Marie&Matilda Jocelyn(twin girls), Caleb Dominic, Arthur Frederick and Flora Beatrice.

Ella,Tilly,Leb and Artie are the nicknames for the first four kids. Are there any great nicknames for Flora Beatrice?

Trix- from Beatrice

If she was mine she’d be getting called Flossie B, in line with my usual nickname policy for my kids, but that has developed naturally.

She’d be Flossie B in my house too!

Why does she need a nickname? Flora is lovely on its own! Most nicknames just come about naturally after getting to know your baby, they don’t need to be pre-planned Smile

Congratulations Flowers

This.

Just to highlight you have given away an awful lot of personal information in your OP, Just so you know you can get MNHQ to take the thread down if you report yourself. A LOT of people can read this information, not just a small groups of friendly Mums at a coffee morning.

Thanks for being honest with me. As for Phoebe, it is a pretty name as well.

My son has two friends called Beatrice. One is a Bea, the other a Trixie. 😃

cocksstrideintheevening · 21/02/2023 18:02

My kids have had about 100 different nicknames at different times 'a much loved child has many names', I think it's an originally Swedish saying.

They will happen organically.

ourflagmeansdeath · 21/02/2023 18:06

This doesn't seem very genuine to be perfectly honest with you! You really nicknamed your kids Stella and Caleb to Ella and Leb for the sake of a nickname?Highly believable. Your responses are a little fake too, get off of mumsnet!! X

Your comment makes me uncomfortable. To be honest, You don't know me and I don't know you either. I am a mother of 5 and I don't have to be fake. Don't bring negativity here please! :)

Okay, let me entertain you. Say you're a genuine mother of 5, I can't say you're a very good one for putting a hell of a lot of outing info on here. First names AND middle names all together with siblings makes it really easy for creeps to find you. Not good protecting of your children in my books. How would you explain that?

nicetoseetgesunsout · 21/02/2023 18:42

Congratulations. Your children have lovely names. I agree with PP that none of them need nicknames, both mine have two syllable names and neither are regularly shortened by us or their friends although both easily could be and we had assumed that they would be. Flora is a beautiful name and the one I know is 18 and is wonderful. She won't need a nickname but if you do want one, I imagine:
Flo (Flora is much nicer), Bea (which is what I thought my daughters name would be shortened to but it isn't), Trixie (I do like this).
I'd definitely stick to Flora. Enjoy the new addition to your family

fuckaroo · 21/02/2023 18:42

Flo
Ra-ra
Flossy
Floss

thesnailandthewhale · 21/02/2023 18:43

For me it would be Flo Bea which would quickly morph into Flybe and then I would sing her "Fly me to the Moon" but that's just how my brain works Grin
