Too old fashioned?

Sorry but it is too old fashioned. I always picture Smithy from Gavin and Stacey saying it to Gavin's mum.

Such a pretty name .Definitely not too old fashioned.

I think it’s very pretty!
I think there’s so many Ellas that it doesn’t sound very dated.

I just hear Gavin and Stacey - "Pamelaaa" when I hear the name, sorry!

Pretty but seems a bit dated. A bit like Barbara in terms of I'd expect a 70 yr old.

I really don’t like it. It sounds too Sheila, Barbara, Hilary for me. It sounds old-fashioned in a bad way.

Makes me think of Pamela Anderson. She's lovely but wouldn't be a name I'd choose. Too dated.

It's such an awful name. I know a 40 yo one and it seems dreary and old fashioned on her.

Pamela is lovely. Maybe a bit old fashioned, but names come round again.

Lovely name, I know a baby Pammy and it really suits her.

I really like it. Puts me in mind of a jaunty gal from the 1950s who has her own motor car that she zips about town in and a flat that she shares with two pals from boarding school, Nancy and Betsy.

It's my mum's name and she absolutely hates it (she's 70 btw).

Also, inevitably it will be shortened to Pam. Do you like Pam?

David Mitchell and Victoria Coren have a Barbara.

I really like Valerie and Shirley too. I think grandma names are coming in, as they always do generation after generation.

I also know a little Peggy and a couple of Daphnes.

It's dated, but beyond that I just don't think it's a nice name.
