Alone and no one to discuss names with...

Would you be kind enough to discuss them with me?

Single parent, no family close. Baby girl expected very soon!

Names I like

Claudia
Romilly
Morgan
Hero
Wendy

All very different. Surname will be a double barrelled one, 3 syllables all up.

Please be kind as I feel pathetic having no one to help me.

I think Wendy is due a rivival :)

Hiro is a very common boys name in China, and on American tv, so I’m not sure about it for a girl. Could work as a middle name.

Milly / Romilly is cute.

I know it’s hard having no one to discuss it with in real life but also - the best thing is that you can chose whatever’s you want!! No one can veto your favourite suggestion!

Romilly - yes (first time heard it, face so far)
Morgan - yes
Hero - once knew a scandanavian person called this, lovely name
Wendy - yes but does remind me of Wendy house

I love Romily and had it on my list but my husband vetoed. I dont like Milly though and would have used Romy as a shortened version

Love Romilly and I'd used the nickname Romy.
Romilly Hero is lovely.
From your list I also like Claudia and Morgan, but not as much as Romilly.

I like all your choices except Wenday. My favourite is Claudia. But Hero, Romilly and Morgan are all lovely too. I guess I prefer names that can be shortened, just to give some variety. Romy is a lovely shortened version of Romilly. Claude is elegant, Claudie is cute. Not sure how you'd shorten Hero. It's quite a cool name.

Which is your favourite? Do you get a sense which one she'll suit?

What about morven instead of Morgan? Not a fan of Wendy or hero.
Claudia is nice and strong but also feminine.

I'd go for Hero, but then I'm very much that single parent that really leaned into the whole not-having-to-negotiate-on-names thing, so take my opinion accordingly.

Romilly is my favourite from your list.

I also like Hero very much, especially with the Shakespeare connection, though it would be a very unusual choice for a first name, but I think Romilly Hero is a beautiful combination of names.

I like Wendy too, and the Peter Pan link is sweet, but it isn't one of the fashionable "old lady" names that are so popular just now. It hasn't yet made that switch from old fashioned name to trendy edgy name!

I'm not keen on Claudia, it sounds so harsh to me, and I wouldn't like Claw as a nickname.
Morgan was very popular about twenty years ago, so it seems a little dated to me now.

I’ve always liked Claudia but I actually think Romilly has the edge for me. it’s just a bit more unique and really cute!

I was really hoping none of my suggestions were going to be called stupid, but anyhow.

I'm loving Romilly and Hero together- never even thought of that!

Gut feelings are Romilly and Claudia are safer names, as is Morgan.

Agree Morgan was popular around 20 years ago so possibly dated. I was stuck on it for a lonnngggg time as I was convinced she told me this was her name.

Hero and Wendy I feel are the less safe choices. I like to think I'm pretty cool though Grin and ahead of trends but don't we all.

Claudia and Romily are both beautiful! My preference would be for Romily as there's so many nice nicknames, where as Claudia could be Claud!

Hero is awful. There was one at a toddler class recently and I cringed every time the mother said it.

Wendy reminds me of burgers.

I like Romilly too but I have only known one and she hated her name so it sort of ruined it for me- plus lots of people said it weirdly- Rommerly, Row-Milly, Rome- ely, Row-me-lee
