Nicholas - it sets my teeth on edge but can't explain why.

Also anything excessively frilly for girls. Arabella, Ottilie, Seraphina etc etc. I immediately think pony clubs and characters in Enid Blyton school stories.

I saw ‘Ethanol’ in the preview on my TIO and thought, ‘well, that would be a terrible baby name’.

Ethan is definitely too close to Ethanol..! I don't like the sound of it at all

Two of my current/past dogs, three cats and one rabbit are on this list, no humans though.

DP has featured several times, even though his name is cool!! DS is mentioned once.

Glad my name's not on here. I hated it most of my life but had made peace with it in recent years; that is, until I came on MN Baby Names board where I've seen it roundly trashed!

Oh I hated my name it's a very delicate English name you'd find in a Merchant Ivory film and I was a tomboy.
There are loads of names on here I love oh and as for the mumsnet baby names section, pretty much every single lovely name I've seen asked about has been treated as if the OP asked.

Why do you need a thick skin to read the thread? It's just opinions on names fgs. I've got twins, one name always on these threads, one not appeared in 23 pages, mine or DH either. The trends are very interesting, I don't give a jot about my disliked twins' name, in fact I agree in a way and wish I'd actually bothered to look at the list of popular names! 😵‍💫
