Rose.

WingingIt101 · 01/01/2023 21:47

Harper Juliet

Rose is overused and the other two are places not people.

KnickerlessParsons · 01/01/2023 21:48

Juliet Rose, or Rose Juliet.

IveHadEnoughNowFfs · 01/01/2023 21:48

Harper Juliet, 100%

Twoinapod · 01/01/2023 21:49

Not a fan of any. Rose or Juliet as a first name are much better

Getpacking · 01/01/2023 21:50

Adelaide is a beautiful name. I know siblings called Adelaide and Albert

ILovePigsInBlankets · 01/01/2023 21:50

Of the 3 you posted- Harper Juliet.

But I don't like Harper - much prefer Juliet or Rose.

Pocketfullofdogtreats · 01/01/2023 21:54

Rose or Juliet. Adelaide is at least an actual name, although a bit dated as in popular in the 1800s. Sydney is dated as in popular in the 1980s. Harper will be forever associated with footballers' wives, won't it?

Juliet Rose, or Rose Juliet.

Any connections to the top 2?

HoHoHowMuch · 01/01/2023 21:58

Adelaide is beautiful. Sydney I like more for a boy.

lovedoesntneedtobeperfect · 01/01/2023 21:59

@Anotheryearsameshitshow No connection per se, however I have a love for glorious sandy beaches, warmth and sun and both Adelaide and Sydney counjour up these images in my mind.

Why not Melbourne or Cairns or something equally ridiculous?

Juliet Rose or Rose Juliet will be less likely to cause a lifetime of cringe.

Blowyourowntrumpet · 01/01/2023 22:00

I'm not keen on any of them

BeagleMumma · 01/01/2023 22:00

Sydney 100%

So many Harpers in primary schools
Right now, and plenty of Adelaide's that I have taught.

I think Sydney is lovely.

I love Adelaide

Mybonnielad · 01/01/2023 22:04

Yes to Adelaide, it's a lovely name.

Firebird83 · 01/01/2023 22:29

Adelaide

Wagsandclaws · 01/01/2023 22:36

There is a Adelaide in my sons class and it really suits her, it's quite an older name I think as well as being a city.

If you went with Sidney you'd maybe be better off spelling it Cydne as I went to uni with a German girl with this name.

She was named after a very old (1930's I think or thereabouts) film star who was very beautiful.

Harper isn't great and I think the Beckhams have made this a popular name.

Same.

Confusion101 · 01/01/2023 22:40

Sorry if this is harsh but Sydney reminds me of a dogs name. An influencer in Ireland recently called her daughter that and people are always mocking it calling her any other city in Australia.

LetsDoThis2023 · 01/01/2023 22:52

How about Grace (Grace Bay) ?

Babynameangst · 01/01/2023 23:17

People are so mean (and just plain wrong) on here sometimes.

Sydney is a derivative / variant of names such as Sindony / Sidonie which have been in use in Europe for hundreds of years literally predating modern Australia. It was a popular name in England during the Tudor period.

Likewise Adelaide is an ancient Germanic name and famously the name of a Queen of England (!) after whom the city Adelaide was named. She preceded Queen Victoria. There is also a city called Victoria in Australia yet we hardly hear Victoria accused of being a place not a name...

I personally prefer Adelaide. I like Addy, I think it's cute. But I would encourage you to choose the name you like best, and not worry too much what others think within reason. None of these names would cause your child any problems.

FatPatsCat · 01/01/2023 23:27

Go all out and go foe Sydney Harper

Marymary987 · 01/01/2023 23:39

I love Adelaide and Sydney, they were both on my list.
