In order of my preference -
Juliet Rose
Rose Adelaide
Adelaide Rose
Sidonie Juliet
Harper Juliet

And Sydney just nowhere at all.

ChildrenOfTheQuorn · 01/01/2023 23:52

Juliet.

Or Adelaide out of your three. And no to Rose the ultimate filler middle name.

xprincessxjanetx · 02/01/2023 01:01

Harper Juliet.

Pretty and feminine and not overused.

KirstenBlest · 02/01/2023 09:43

Rose as a middle name is overused.
I don't like any of the first names.

GoodbyeLondon · 02/01/2023 09:45

Harper Juliet

I don't like Adelaide or Sydney and Harper Rose runs together in a way I don't like... Harper Rose. Sounds like a medical term to describe a patient

pharaohrocher · 02/01/2023 09:46

How about Erin? Short for Erinsborough.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 02/01/2023 09:48

If you went with Sidney you'd maybe be better off spelling it Cydne as I went to uni with a German girl with this name.

She was named after a very old (1930's I think or thereabouts) film star who was very beautiful.

If you mean Cyd Charisse, Sid/Cyd was a nickname because her brother couldn't say "sister" or "sis". She was never called Cydne. Her actual name was Tula!

BrutusMcDogface · 02/01/2023 09:54

I absolutely love Adelaide. Addie for short. It was on my list but was vetoed by dp.

I also love Adeline and Addison.

MsJuniper · 02/01/2023 10:04

I love Adelaide.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 02/01/2023 10:11

I do like Adelaide, but it does make me think of Guys and Dolls.

crossstitchingnana · 02/01/2023 10:15

Don't like any of them.

scottishnames · 02/01/2023 13:00

Agree with previous posters that Adelaide and Sidonie (that spelling) are very nice.

Harper is a surname, used by novelist Nelle Harper Lee as a 'pen name'; she called herself 'Nelle' in everyday life. (It was the name of a doctor who saved the life of her sister; her parents gave it as the middle name of their next daughter to honour him. ) To me, it just sounds ugly compared with the other two names on your list.

Riapia · 02/01/2023 13:08

Alice Springs

Riapia · 02/01/2023 13:09

Or maybe.
Woomera.

halfsiesonapotnoodle · 02/01/2023 13:12

Harper Juliet. Rose is definitely done to death. I really regret it being my own daughter's middle name. She can't stand it either. Harper and Juliet are both lovely names.

Porridgeislife · 02/01/2023 13:15

@Babynameangst Victoria is a state not a city. The equivalent would be calling a baby Queensland. Or New South Wales.

Adelaide is a really pretty name and used in Australia for little girls.

Toottooot · 02/01/2023 13:16

Another vote for Erin(sborough) or Summer (Bay)

AllyCatTown · 02/01/2023 13:17

I like Adelaide. I don’t get people saying it’s not a name as it’s a city named after a British queen. It’s just not a name they’ve heard of.

JamSandle · 02/01/2023 13:17

Harper

PaintByLetters · 02/01/2023 14:09

Harper, Sydney & Adelaide all make me think of families who post their lives on Instagram and have all their child's belongings personalised with their names.

If that's what you're going for, then I'd say Adelaide. If that's not your style you need a rethink - or just go for Juliet as pp's have suggested.

TitilatedOcelot · 02/01/2023 18:10

Adelaide

It's a perfectly normal classic girl's name. If it wasn't on a list with Sydney, I don't think people would go on so about it being a place name. Addie/Ada/Adele all good short forms, if you need one. It comes from the German Adelheid, which can be shortened to Heidi.

Not keen on Harper, always sounds a bit harsh to me. Sydney is ok, but not as nice as Adelaide.

AndNowForSomethingCompletelyDifferent · 02/01/2023 18:51

Harper or Adelaide. Rose is massively overused as a middle name for girls, they all have it. It’s the equivalent of Louise/Jane, so I prefer Juliet.

PMAmostofthetime · 02/01/2023 22:54

Love Adelaide Rose and Addie/Addy as a NN x

Rickandmortified100 · 02/01/2023 23:29

Well I like them all. Personally I’d go with Adelaide but they all sound lovely. Also love the middle names!

Frazzled2207 · 02/01/2023 23:33

I like Adelaide and also Juliet/Rose as first names

Rose is SO overused as a middle name. Also Grace and May.
