Chastity?

You have to be joking!

Honour is lovely. I don't think Amorae or Monroe go with Honour.

How about:
Aurora
Amara
Aubrey
Emelda
Arabella
Marissa
Marina

I love Aubrey but was an absolute no from DH

The go to is not Honour. I’ve taught a few and actually considered it for my DD (who is Hester which I think goes well with Honor as they have that Puritan thing going on) Honour just looks wrong.

I will absolutely not be taking any advice from someone that called their child Hester!!!!!

Hester's a lovely name and has been around for a very long time.

RosesAndHellebores · 28/11/2022 08:42

In light of your post at 07.55 @HonoursMummy I think you must do as you wish.

Yeah, what on earth is wrong with Hester? 🤔

No one is saying Honor is a bad name, OP, just that the original spelling is without the 'u'.

radrado · 28/11/2022 09:24

Yes, mean spirited OP. This is an actual child we’re talking about here.

RandomMusings7 · 28/11/2022 09:28

I think Honour is a bad name also. Sorry... very few virtue names are decent

My daughter is named Monroe and we think it is an absolutely beautiful gender neutral name. We have received a lot of positive reactions when introducing our child and explaining the meaning behind it

It's not, and you're not getting positive reactions you're getting politeness. No-one tells the parents to their face how awful the kida names are. No-one wants to know the meaning behind it and that doesn't change the name anyway.

OP Amorae is a ridiculous mispelled attempt at a foreign name. Don't do it. It' will make you look dimwitted, like people who name their kid Neveah or Pheonix. Amorae and Monroe looks like you're apeing Mariah Carey but with even less intelligence and class, if such a thing is possible.

I guess I don't have a lot of intelligence or class for liking a particular name :(

Amora is a brand of mayo in French supermarkets. I want fries now! (And pizza pies)

Not mean at all, it’s my opinion.. just like everyone else has their opinion on my post! Have a read through.. if you think I’m the mean on you need to reevaluate.

I couldn't get too worked up about Monroe. But Amorae is awful, bloody hell!!!
Imagine subjecting a beautiful new baby to a lifetime of THAT. Sad

radrado · 29/11/2022 09:41

@HonoursMummy No one has been rude about your actual child’s name though? Just pointed out the spelling is unusual. Whereas you were downright rude about the name Hester, an actual child. So no, you’re the one that needs to “reevaluate”.

Echobelly · 29/11/2022 09:46

I think Amorae sounds trashy tbh. Amara might be a nicer alternative? Would go nicely with Honour as well.

Hester is lovely. And has the advantage of being an actual recognisable name, which "Amorae" definitely is not.

CloseYourEyesAndSee · 30/11/2022 07:35

Monroe is a bit out there but not too bad
Amorae is super awful. Don't.

CaptainCastillo · 05/12/2022 12:43

@HonoursMummy Maybe consider Emori Instead of Amorae?
I do think Amorae will get bullied because of her name. I assume you don't want your child to get bullied because of her name, right? Well If you don't want that for her you can easily avoid that happening by choosing a more common alternative of Amorae (for example Emori).

I know Its not what you want to hear, but Amorae will get bullied more often with that name and thats just sad knowing that you could have avoided that. If you really love the name Amorae so much use It as a middle name or something.

Fundays12 · 05/12/2022 12:48

Sorry there both awful. Please don’t do that to your kids

Trinity65 · 05/12/2022 12:57

Bloody awful
