That was for @TheBirdintheCave

DogInATent · 26/11/2022 09:12

Amorae - I'm pretty sure you can get cream for that and it will clear up in no time.

Your other thread has loads of name suggestions.

Which is why I did both- to your earlier question mc dogface

I don't even know how to pronounce the first name. Is it the name of a sea creature?
Monroe is just weird

Dalekjastninerels · 26/11/2022 09:15

Is Amorae male/female/both?

Monroe is for a boy?

Don't and remember children have to live with their name ; make them middle names if you are really keen.

radrado · 26/11/2022 09:15

I think that was in response to you saying there weren’t many name suggestions. You had loads on the other thread- do you like any of those ones?

WarrickDavisAsPlates · 26/11/2022 09:18

I think of you wanted to go with Amorea as the word for love, you need to spell it correctly (Amore) as the spelling you're suggesting is really very jarring.

Monroe I think people might assume the boys name Munro, the child would have a lifetime of saying "Monroe, like Marilyn Monroe" forcing the association.

The name Marilyn is quite pretty though.

My granny’s name is Marilyn and didn’t want me to use it as she doesn’t like so my association was Monroe. My logic haha
Amorae is a girls name
amore is unisex

Sounds far too try hard. Not nice at sll.

SavouryFlavour · 26/11/2022 09:28

Amorae (which my iPad autocorrects to amoral) would be pronounced a-more-eye. If you want Amora, you need to spell it Amora.

Dorisbonson · 26/11/2022 09:29

Appalling.

Why do you want to do this to your children?

I hope you gave Honour a good middle name which she can use when she is older.

dammitJanet81 · 26/11/2022 09:32

It's a nice idea to honour your gran, but if she doesn't like Marilyn, I think you need to find something else. I don't think linking into Marilyn Monroe is really honouring your gran on any way. It's going off on too much of a tangent.

RambamThankyouMam · 26/11/2022 09:51

Both dreadful.

Amorae sounds like a sex lube.

Monroe is a surname.

Ethelfromnumber73 · 26/11/2022 09:52

Both horrific. You did ask Grin

BCBird · 26/11/2022 09:54

No to both. Don't give a child a name that initiates questions or ,debate.it will annoy them. Use one as middle name if you have to.

megletthesecond · 26/11/2022 09:58

No.

RandomMusings7 · 26/11/2022 10:00

I'm sorry but... yuck!

Amorae = so silly and pretentious and the spelling reminds me of the word amoeba. Just horrible...

Monroe = do you want a name who references the most stereotypical bimbo ever? That's what you're going for?

Please go back to the drawing board

saffy7 · 26/11/2022 10:06

Amore is the correct spelling. Amorae runs the risk of being incorrectly spelt and pronounced, I'd assume it was Amo-ray.

RandomMusings7 · 26/11/2022 10:24

Regardless of what a random website might say, Amorae is not a girls name. The fact that there's less than 6 daft parents per million babies who pick it each year should really clue you in @HonoursMummy. No, it's not because it's some rare gem, it's because it's a random awfully misspelled Italian word.

Crankley · 26/11/2022 15:19

Both hideous. Change your own names if you like them so much. Why would you do that to a child you're supposed to love?

Soubriquet · 26/11/2022 15:20

Prefer Emori. Sounds similar but not quite as bad

Nobodyyou · 26/11/2022 15:24

Sound like pornstar names. Just NO.

Indigoo03 · 26/11/2022 15:27

Amore will forever be assosicated with the song...so no

HonoursMummy · 26/11/2022 16:24

viques · 26/11/2022 09:11

Well you should have made that abundantly clear from the beginning then shouldn’t you. So NOT okay. We aren’t mindreaders ,okay? Just people trying to save your children from a lifetime of name embarrassment. Okay?

(flounces from thread, slams door, returns to thread, leaves, slams door a bit louder)

very strange that this is offence to you haha
