ChildrenOfTheQuorn · 25/11/2022 22:49

Eesh. They're both dreadful.

QueSyrahSyrah · 25/11/2022 22:53

Amorae is ridiculous. If you met someone Italian and they introduced themself as 'mylove' you'd think it was weird, right? So don't do it the other way round.

Monroe is marginally better but still not nearly as pretty as Honour.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 25/11/2022 22:53

Miabella
Laurina
Lilavie
Soliana
Maelie

Bloody hell. I'd stick with Amorae.

IntentionalError · 25/11/2022 22:57

Amorae sounds like a Korean car, named by a computer algorithm.

Monroe is a perfectly good surname, not a girl’s first name.

Outofnowhere · 25/11/2022 22:57

Really bad.

Toottooot · 25/11/2022 22:59

Just dinna.

SoggyBananaLoaf · 25/11/2022 23:03

Silly!

Snugglemonkey · 25/11/2022 23:27

No. Neither.

HonoursMummy · 26/11/2022 08:52

I done both threads at the same time.
I still love both names

radrado · 26/11/2022 08:55

Not keen The spellings of both are difficult. Maybe something more classic to go with Honour (you must have to correct the spelling of that constantly!)

Zedcarz · 26/11/2022 08:58

Too try hard.
Its not just about what they look like written down.
Did you post on here ref Honour already in existence?

Spidey66 · 26/11/2022 09:00

Please don't do it. Honour is not a name I'd choose tbh but at least it's a proper name. Tbh I didn't think of pizza pie when I saw Amorea first (though now can't get it out of my head). I thought of amoeba!

Monroe is the better of the 2, but still not great.

BrutusMcDogface · 26/11/2022 09:00

You ‘done’ two threads at the same time……why? 🤔

Monroe is a Scottish boy’s name, isn’t it? Or is it spelled differently?

Amorae - nope.

HonoursMummy · 26/11/2022 09:00

No I don’t actually, I live in England so the go to is Honour. Very unusual name here and only the oldies associate the name with Honor Blackman.

You might but I doubt the recipient will

HonoursMummy · 26/11/2022 09:03

This thread is for thoughts on these names. The other is different name ideas.
?? is that okay

radrado · 26/11/2022 09:03

Don’t be mean @BrutusMcDogface

and yes Munro is Scottish. Pretty unusual boys name here but I like it. It’s a Scottish mountain over 3000 feet.

radrado · 26/11/2022 09:05

Do you like any of the names suggested OP?

KangarooKenny · 26/11/2022 09:06

Amoeba.

HonoursMummy · 26/11/2022 09:07

Not really but there hasn’t been many suggested, mostly very opinionated people telling me the names are awful haha! ( which is what I came here for - not complaining) which is why I did two threads x

OP posts:
TheBirdintheCave · 26/11/2022 09:09

Neither of those suggestions are first names 🤷🏻‍♀️ One is a poorly spelt Italian word and the other is a surname.

How can you go from a pretty name like Honor to something those abominations? 🤔

BrutusMcDogface · 26/11/2022 09:10

Your other thread has loads of name suggestions.

Well you should have made that abundantly clear from the beginning then shouldn’t you. So NOT okay. We aren’t mindreaders ,okay? Just people trying to save your children from a lifetime of name embarrassment. Okay?

(flounces from thread, slams door, returns to thread, leaves, slams door a bit louder)

radrado · 26/11/2022 09:12

Loads of suggestions on your other thread!

Ducksurprise · 26/11/2022 09:12

If fairness there is a pattern, HonoUr.
