Or drab?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I have an Esther. We love everything about it. The star meaning. The Queen Esther association (strong woman). "Esther the pester" 🤣
Older daughter nicknames her Estie which is sweet.
Love it.

SalviaOfficinalis · 30/07/2022 20:20

I really like it. Definitely due a revival.

badg3r · 30/07/2022 20:21

I like it. It is popular in Scandinavia just now.

YukoandHiro · 30/07/2022 20:21

Those saying downtrodden is so surprising to me - but I think I was inspired by knowing an adult Esther who is fierce and burns bright. I associate it with her qualities of strength and self possession

TheFormidableMrsC · 30/07/2022 20:21

I always thought it was a lovely name and then DS had a classmate with that name and she was an absolute cow. Think Verucca Salt. Put me right off.

ohfook · 30/07/2022 20:22

Yes! I love that name and also know a very cool Esther.

AppleBottomRats · 30/07/2022 20:24

It’s not awful but I definitely wouldn’t describe it as cool.

HarrietSchulenberg · 30/07/2022 20:24

Whilst it's a lovely name, it holds connotations of Esther Rantzen for me.

Moonshine5 · 30/07/2022 20:25

Cool

Amdone123 · 30/07/2022 20:26

I love it.

ODFOx · 30/07/2022 19:46

It is very cool and strong. If that is the vibe you are going for you have nailed it. Good job!
Also Harriet and Ruth, by the way.

Yes this- every word! We have really similar taste.

Unlikelyfarmerswife · 30/07/2022 20:34

Do like Esther, but prefer Hester

vjg13 · 30/07/2022 20:42

It's a beautiful name.

DramaAlpaca · 30/07/2022 20:44

I consider it a strong name, but I don't see it as cool.

Theskyoutsideisblue · 30/07/2022 20:48

Absolutely awful

LoveTigerWiger · 30/07/2022 20:49

I've been fond of it every since I was born (33)😁

NeedToKnow101 · 30/07/2022 20:52

I love the name Esther

Titsflyingsouth · 30/07/2022 20:53

I find it bizarre that MNetters often rave about this name. It's dowdy and middle-aged to me...

Katjolo · 30/07/2022 21:01

Gorgeous name. Essie as a potential nickname.

Forgothowmuchlhatehomeschoolin · 30/07/2022 21:49

Not a fan

C0mfyChairP0se · 30/07/2022 21:51

Strong and cool!

SirSidneyRuffDiamond · 30/07/2022 21:57

I love it - so strong and has a cool vibe to it. I love Hester too. My great grandmother's name was Hester Louisa Rabjohn which I think is fabulous 🥰

nokitchen · 30/07/2022 22:07

I love it

goldfinchonthelawn · 30/07/2022 22:09

I love it. It is a cool, strong name and if you read the story of Esther in the bible, you see that she is one of the coolest, strongest women in the whole book. I love the name.

VeryQuaintIrene · 30/07/2022 22:11

It's a good name, and for me associated with the fabulous and lovable Esther the WonderPig, which is fine because I love pigs. But maybe not everyone does...
