I know a 3 year old Pippa and that’s literally never occurred to me.

I liked Phillipa when thinking of names for a girl. Rejected it because I didn't like Pippa and that was obviously going to happen. Nothing wrong with Pippa it's just personal taste but I wouldn't name my child a derivative.

I love the name Pippa but didn’t use it, mainly because of the fact that paired with our surname it sounds ridiculous 😂but also I know it’s rude slang in Italian!

Love it. We are due in November and have Phillipa (Pippa), Penelope (Poppie) and Isabelle as our top girl names .

I don't like it anymore because the person opposite me whilst in labour with DS was called Phillipa (Pippa) and she was on the birthing ball at 3am when she wasn't in labour and it made the most awful noise on the floor to the point I wanted to pop the bastard ball 😄

No I think. Too many will assume it is Philippa and been abbreviated.

I know a little Pippa and that never occurred to me either. What about people who call their child Kate, William or any other of the perfectly ordinary, commonly used "royal" names?

Pippa is a lovely name, the one I know gets lots of compliments about it.

So what about all the kids called George, Charlotte, William, Mia, Lucas, Savannah etc. names that are children in the actual royal family rather than someone’s sister that most people have forgotten about.

If it’s a concern, Pippa doesn’t travel well in much of Europe. That would put me off the name.

I love it! It’s one of the very few names where I don’t mind the nickname being the given name. Philippa is nice as well of course.

Philippa is one L 2 Ps. Prefer Philippa to Pippa but both are Ok

The correct spelling is one L and two P’s 🙂 it’s from the Greek Philein (love) + hippos (horse) so means lover of horses.

Not so keen on Pippa but Philippa is ok.

I know two fabulous Philippas who go by Phil, which I really like, but I do prefer strong, unisex names (like Alex etc) to more overtly girly names.
