Classic but unusual boy names?

Is this even a possible combo? Asking for friend who is having a boy. She likes more traditional or biblical names- think Isaac, Caleb, Abel, Henry etc. her dh likes more unique/modern names like neo and jaxon. Any suggestions on names that are traditional but not mega common would be great. Or any names that might be a middle ground! She is 37 weeks so not long left to decide! Thanks

Macsen was actually known as Magnus Maximus.

we are welsh so Macsen would not be out of place here. I also like idris but she isn’t keen.

Asher? It's old but sounds modern to me

Justkeeppedaling · 01/05/2022 10:29

My favourite boys' names are David and Jarlath.
I also like Meredydd (pronounced the proper Welsh way) and Ivo.

Blaise
Rocco / Roche

Both very early saints' names which most people think are modern/daring/strong/unusual etc.

Isonthecase · 03/05/2022 20:09

@Laureatus it's funny isn't it, I always think of Rocco as being a bit like Cosmo. It's definitely getting more popular again though, there are at least 2 under 5 I've come across.
