Any thoughts on this name? I've always loved it but wondered whether people thought it seemed very plain. I'm also aware it was popular when I was young so might seem a bit old hat.

I really like it and would be something different than the usual Evie/Ava/Isla/Lily that are everywhere.

Kitkat151 · 17/01/2022 14:51

It’s nice.... I think it’s pretty not plain

LaChanticleer · 17/01/2022 14:52

It's a lovely name which will never date.

sadpapercourtesan · 17/01/2022 14:54

I find it very 80s, along with Claire, Emma, Rachel, Louise etc. I wouldn't use it, but I wouldn't raise an eyebrow if someone else did either - it's fine, just a bit meh.

toastofthetown · 17/01/2022 14:55

Lovely name. Only just outside of the top hundred so still in moderate use. I wouldn’t worry about if other people think it’s too plain. Some may well think that, but any name will be ‘too _’ for someone.

OnceUponAThread · 17/01/2022 14:55

It's a great name. When I was growing up everyone was called Sarah, which I'm sure was a pain for each of the (four!) in my class. But it's not even in the top 100 now, and it's a classic. Well overdue a comeback.

Umbella · 17/01/2022 14:57

I find it very 80s, along with Claire, Emma, Rachel, Louise etc.

I love all of these as well Grin

Thank you, everyone.

I like it. High chance she'll be the only one in her class too (which is ironic given that all the Sarah's in my generation grew up being known as Sarah M, Sarah C, Sarah W etc)

RoseMartha · 17/01/2022 15:04

I like it and would use it
Classic name

DramaAlpaca · 17/01/2022 15:05

It's nice. A classic, very underused these days.

rubydoobydoo · 17/01/2022 15:06

I think it's dull, but that's probably just because it's my name and there's loads of us! My mum said she didn't know any others when she named me but then suddenly they were everywhere Grin

I suppose it might seem less dull now there won't be five in every class.

minniep · 17/01/2022 15:13

It's a classic name that will never date

emmathedilemma · 17/01/2022 15:20

I like it, I know a little one and it doesn't seem dated.

PatterPaws · 17/01/2022 15:20

Lovely name

miltonj · 17/01/2022 15:37

Love it. 3 Sarah's in my family, one is in 50s one early 30s and one 18 year old, so suits all the generations!

WeasilyPleased · 17/01/2022 15:39

A close family member is Sarah. She's ace and so I associate it with her.

Aposterhasnoname · 17/01/2022 15:41

My favourite girls name. Love it.

Shmippy · 17/01/2022 15:43

I know two babies called Sarah. Not sure if that means it's on the way back or if it's just a coincidence.

Solid name that won't scare the horses.

Skeumorph · 17/01/2022 15:44

I really like it now that it's less popular - it was wallpaper in my childhood, 70s-80s Sarahs were everywhere!

Now it's little used you can 'see' it - I find it graceful, understated, classic. A dignified name.

Georgeskitchen · 17/01/2022 15:47

Sarah is lovely I like Sara and Zara as well

amylou8 · 17/01/2022 15:47

I'm Sarah, mid 40s. Always liked my name.

MiddleAgedKick · 17/01/2022 15:48

Love it! It would be on my list if we had another girl (which we won't as we are done). Another favourite of mine, with a similar vibe is Catherine

Crunched · 17/01/2022 15:48

A lovely ageless name, similar to Helen.

user1493494961 · 17/01/2022 15:51

It's lovely and due a comeback.

needabreak5 · 17/01/2022 15:53

I also like it....but it is overdue a comeback so be id prepared for it to be more popular than you think in if other parents to be start having the same idea! Maybe not though! I also like Zara too.
