Traditional names for boys that aren’t super popular?

I love unusual names - for example I was set on Cosmo, but DH absolutely hates it.

DH prefers traditional names like George or Harold, but for various reasons can’t use Harold and half of little boys seem to be George or William or Henry! Any traditional names which are slightly less popular? I am struggling!

What girls names do you like? Just to get more idea of your style!

How about … Alasdair, Benedict, Percy, Cecil, Peter, Carl, Bruce, Zachary, Quentin..?

DrPrincessFluffyToYou · 03/12/2021 20:01

We both like Edward but sadly doesn’t go with our surname (ends in a D and makes it hard to say together)

Also like Caspar. Otis is nice but makes me think a bit of sex education!

I suggest Basil 😍

Freddies are everywhere so not that! Doesn’t help that they can be Freddie, Frederick, Alfred etc. so a lot of them.

We also know a few Ernies.

Aubrey

How about Daniel?

I have one, he is 22 years old. It's a lovely name, classic but not overly common.

Raphael! Forgot that one. Love it.

DrPrincessFluffyToYou · 03/12/2021 20:03

Quentin is a family name and I’d really like that. Edgar also going on the list!

Really like Percival but my family put me off by saying Percy is a shortening for Willy!

Girls names I like: isadora, felicity, verity

Raphael is gorgeous - definitely going on list. I love Inigo but DH sadly vetoed. Otto also sweet but sadly a cousin’s dog’s name!

Ivo I like. Rex is fantastic but normally short for Reginald which I’m not 100% sure on…although is also a family name which would be nice.

Max, Peter and Barbary all ex boyfriends so definitely out I’m afraid!
