For a boy? Yes/no? And the whys? Any bad associations?

I associate it with a beautiful Irish Wolfhound I once knew. I think because of that I probably consider it to be a dog's name. That's just me though .

I like it though I’d look at other spellings.

I like it, it's a nickname for Seamus to me but if your in the UK probably better just to use the phonetic spelling of the nickname.

I've taught a boy called Shay. I don't particularly like it, although can't really tell you why!

This. I can't ever not associate the name with that woman. Especially in the books where Tyrion repeatedly asks "where do whores go?". So yeah. When I hear the name that sentence pops into my head immediately.

Named after a Newcastle United football player..
He said he would have preferred Seamus though.

The only Shay I know is female.
