Bump!

Sounds like he'd be a captain of industry in Victorian times. Not to say that's a bad thing. It's quite a big name but I can imagine it being quite sweet on a little boy.

cheesemarmitepanini · 03/09/2021 10:49

Thank you!

Chester George sounds like chest of drawers.

HoldingTheDoor · 03/09/2021 10:50

It's a very unattractive name. Cute on a dog but awful on a human.

Chester George sounds like chest of drawers.
Oh yeah.. it does a bit!

I don't dislike the name, but have to agree with previous poster that Chester George does sound like chest of drawers. I'd go for something else or maybe change the middle name?

RussianSpy101 · 03/09/2021 10:55

I wouldn’t go for Chester George because now I’ve heard chest of drawers, I can’t unhear it.
Chester & Toby are lovely together though.

Chester Thomas
Chester Max

Yep. I feel like it needs a one syllable middle name, which is tricky..

Any ideas?

I like Chester Thomas but I'm not sure about two syllables-two syllables?

Chester John
Chester Luke

Chester John Chester Luke
Absolutely LOVE Chester John and it's my grandfather's name. I'm not sure my husband will go for it which is really annoying!

I love Chester as a boys name - I think Holly Willoughby has a son called Chester so it is used as a child’s name.

It actually has a very long history in the UK as a first name but only really took off in the US.

I like the fact it has history and it's not popular

It also makes me think of Chester The Molestor and I had no idea why but I just looked it up and apparently it was an old, and very disturbing comic strip. I've never read it but I must have heard of it somewhere. I doubt that many people will think of that now though.

Confused yeah I don't think that'll come up often...
OP posts:
HoldingTheDoor · 03/09/2021 11:08

It seems to have been quite a well known and long running comic strip but that was a long time ago so unlikely to be an issue. It's still an ugly name though imo.

HoldingTheDoor · 03/09/2021 11:09

Chester Thomas sounds fine though. I don't think the two syllables thing is an issue.

bigburdd · 03/09/2021 11:27

I'm afraid my first thought was Chester the child molestor too, sorry!

cheesemarmitepanini · 03/09/2021 11:35

I've never heard of that so luckily doesn't bother me

cactijones · 03/09/2021 11:58

I'm due my first and Chester was mine and my mums favourite but everyone else hated it and said it was a horse/dog name. I really love it though

cheesemarmitepanini · 03/09/2021 12:00

This will be our second and as much as I'm interested in public opinions (hence posting here, and glad I did re the Chest of Draws thing!) I really wouldn't change my mind on a name because some people don't like it

Chester Dawes would be perfect.

I only know one Chester - and it's a dog!
I also live not far from Chester (the city of) so to me it's a place not a person.
