I think it's coming back into fashion and likely to become quite popular, a bit similar to Mabel

Ds15 was totally in love with a gorgeous little girl called Martha when he was 5. She had curly hair and chased him in the playground. Sadly she moved away and he was utterly heartbroken - he cried and cried. It's a lovely pretty name.

I think of the Bible story where Martha does all the work but Jesus prefers Mary because she sits there listening to him and occasionally saying "Oh Jesus, you're so holy and smart and wonderful".

I think of a lovely but quite sad Tom Waits love song with a great twangy piano intro

Martha Washington, and lots of 19th century women in my family tree! It's a lovely, solid name.
