I’m sorry if it’s a real name but it sounds like Tulisa with a lisp.

Palavah · 18/08/2021 16:49

Or Tabitha with a typo

HasaDigaEebowai · 18/08/2021 16:49

Ah just seen it’s pronounced Talita (no th sound)

In which case I think she’d face a lifetime of correcting pronunciation

MaMelon · 18/08/2021 16:51

I’d never heard it so online and got this on Wikipedia -
Talitha is an uncommon feminine name meaning "little girl" in Aramaic, given in reference to the Biblical story in the Gospel of Mark in which Jesus Christ was said to have resurrected a dead child with the words "Talitha cumi" or "Talitha kum" or "Talitha koum," meaning "Little girl, I say to you, arise!" Sad

Between that and sounding like a mispronunciation of Tabitha I’m not really that keen on it.

NewIdeasToday · 18/08/2021 16:51

Terrible made up American sounding name.

Fluffytheevil1 · 18/08/2021 16:52

I know a Talitha. She literally has to spell it out to people they call her talia, Taylor and Tabitha.

ClaudiaWankleman · 18/08/2021 16:54

I think it's a very pretty name. Given its rarity, and the fact it is a biblical name, I think anyone who is familiar with the name will assume it was given for its religious connotations. If that doesn't bother you then it's a good choice.

Livvielo · 18/08/2021 16:54

@NewIdeasToday

Terrible made up American sounding name.
It’s a very old biblical name

Completely wrong but don't let that stop you @NewIdeasToday

HasaDigaEebowai · 18/08/2021 16:56

Talia?

EdgeOfACoin · 18/08/2021 17:04

I like it, OP.

gogohm · 18/08/2021 17:06

I love Tabitha but yes it was the cat in bewitched I think?

JohnSteinbeck · 18/08/2021 17:20

Hebrew name. I know three of different ages. One is Taleetha, the other Talytha like Tabitha, and the third Talita but with more of a Spanish accent (she’s Latin American). Phew! I think it’s pretty.

OneFootintheRave · 18/08/2021 17:22

Makes me think of Talitha Pol who was married to one of the Gettys. Some iconic pictures of her with the Rolling Stones. Sadly her life was a bit tragic. Nice name though.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 18/08/2021 17:24

It’s not good. Hard to say. Very lispy. Weak sounding to me. She’ll envy her sisters with their names 😀

campion · 18/08/2021 17:30

I rather like it.
I can't see why it would be hard to say -it's pronounced as it's spelt.

Amdone123 · 18/08/2021 17:37

I quite like it. I love your girls' names, you've got good taste!
I do love Tabitha though. Don't like Talia.

Tal45 · 18/08/2021 17:38

I thought it was a typo for Tabitha. Personally I wouldn't choose another name ending in an 'ah' sound, it's nearly as bad as all the names beginning with the same sound IMO.

Amdone123 · 18/08/2021 17:40

Your girls' names are classic. I think Martha or Verity would go with them. Plus they've all got 6 letters !

MaMelon · 18/08/2021 17:41

Apparently the Aramaic pronunciation is Ta-lee-ta - but I’m not sure how likely it is the OP will come across any Aramaic speakers Grin
SugarPlum10 · 18/08/2021 17:45

I agree with @Amdone123, I’d pick a more traditional name to go with your other daughters’ names.

Lulu1919 · 18/08/2021 17:46

It's a biblical name and I know a one year old named Talitha !!!

Enough4me · 18/08/2021 17:49

How about Natalie (nn. Tally)?

PeskyRooks · 18/08/2021 18:26

I know a Talitha she pronounces it
Tal- eetha. Actually more like Tal-eefa but I really like it!
