Love both names and struggling to decide. Which would you choose? x

Alice is wet and drippy ?!

It's a royal name. It means noble / exalted.

Alice Cooper anyone? He changed his name to Alice!

Bands :

Alice in Chains
Wolf Alice

It's very cool

Lily works on toddlers. The way it rolls off the tongue just sounds stupid.

Terriah · 05/08/2021 07:02

Alice.

Lily is extremely popular round here still and I prefer the sound of Alice, in any case.

ISaidDontLickTheBin · 05/08/2021 07:05

Both names are crazy popular round my way, I'd say equally so. Personally I much prefer Alice. Lily is a bit wet and fragile sounding.

BikeRunSki · 05/08/2021 07:20

However, I would pick Lily personally but only because DD has a friend called Alice (she also has a friend called Lily actually) but every time she mentions Alice I want to shout "Alice! Who the fuck is Alice?"

I’m in my 50s and I’m an Alice. The WTFIAlice comments have taken up about 15 mins of my e tire life and havn’t been mentioned for what - 15 years? I really don’t think it’s a problem in my experience.

EdgeOfACoin · 05/08/2021 07:27

Alice.

I find Lily a bit twee. 'Lily-livered' etc.

MumofSpud · 05/08/2021 07:27

Both are great names and I would say Lily but it is soooo popular it puts me off a bit (I know it shouldn't)
So I would vote Alice!

ZenNudist · 05/08/2021 07:30

Alice

CaptSkippy · 05/08/2021 07:30

Alice

ODFOx · 05/08/2021 07:34

Alice

IdblowJonSnow · 05/08/2021 07:52

I like both but would go with Alice I think.

WindyRose · 05/08/2021 07:58

My lovely grandmother was Alice, been thinking about her today even before reading this post.

While she didn't have much in the way of worldly things (money etc) she gave lots of love and taught me many things and I still miss her heaps.

So Alice gets my vote!! Flowers

Chachachawoo · 05/08/2021 08:17

Alice (also love Elise)

Ladyaramis98 · 05/08/2021 08:20

Vote for Alice as well. Alicia and Alisa versions are also lovely. Lily sounds a bit shallow to me, whilst Alice has sophistication about it

Cbeebiesrehab · 05/08/2021 08:25

Alice 100%%%%

LittleRedPill · 05/08/2021 08:28

Alice. I work with children and Lily is so common where I am.

BusySittingDown · 05/08/2021 09:01

@BikeRunSki no it wouldn't be a problem at all. There is no child now that would even know about the song (at least I hope not!)

They're both equally beautiful names, it's just my immature brain that reacts every time DD mentions her friend.

MintyGreenDream · 05/08/2021 09:03

Alice.Every other little girl is called lily

CaffiSaliMali · 05/08/2021 09:28

Alys is on my list so it's Alice for me.

They're both nice but Alice has a more timeless feel. Alicia is lovely too.

Bin85 · 05/08/2021 09:28

Alice its a stronger name.

Pemba · 05/08/2021 10:40

Alice is such a great classic strong name.

Lily is really pretty but a bit girly and ephemeral in comparison.

VeryLongBeeeep · 05/08/2021 10:44

Alice. I've always struggled a bit with Lily, it's almost like my tongue gets stuck to the roof of my mouth trying to get the sounds out (I appreciate that's weirdly specific though! Grin )

pictish · 05/08/2021 10:45

Alice. Lily has been done to death. Nice enough name but so ubiquitous now.

AperolWhore · 05/08/2021 11:00

Any name that ends in a Y sound unfortunately sound like a dogs name so my choice would Alice.

RonaldMcDonald · 05/08/2021 11:02

Both are nice
Alice is less used in my opinion and Lily will have a run as the Sussexes have a Lili

thriftyhen · 05/08/2021 11:03

Alice.
